So it's safe to assume you had no interest in seeing the FSU game in 2015 after the debacle that season had become. If so you missed one of the greatest games in BDS history. I show up not because I expect GT to win but to support the team and because I do believe victory is possible even in the most dire circumstances. If you want to show up only when you think victory is probable that's your choice but you're likely to miss out on some exciting moments.
No I went to that game and it was very exciting. Due to injuries and bad luck we seemed to have that season and coming off such a good one the year prior, I still had hope and I was not yet convinced that I wanted the program to move in another direction.
I believe we do need to make a change though now, and in protest I decided to skip the game and not have to watch us get whooped in person. Had we won that would have been great to upset their season but the likelihood was very low and again, I had no desire to see our team after how poorly they had played against Duke. I know plenty of people who are much bigger Tech fans and supporters than I that made the same decision. Some people are unhappy with the program and decided to stay home.
And this is not that I don't think the offense will work because obviously it does work, CPJ has a record to prove it, I just think he and/or his staff can't get the players we need to run it (or can't get enough of them) due to his inability to recruit, some of which is due to the offense he runs. Whether it works or not doesn't matter (the Wing-T works if you can execute it correctly), if people don't want to play in it and people don't want to watch it then it's a doomed enterprise. I'm not necessarily saying we have to fire the guy, but if he won't adapt it to something relatively modern (which he apparently won't) then we will continue to struggle getting talent on offense and likely average somewhere around or just over .500. Obviously defense is a problem too but we have struggled mightily on offense over the last few years (PPG ranks of 71st, 70th, and 63rd the last 3 years) and that is due to talent as well as stubborn coaching.
