Jimbo to TA&M

Unless you can get Barry Alvarez too I don't think I'd take any Badgers coach.

That's overlooking a lot of what Chryst has done. He coached offense for Alvarez and was a big contributor to Bielema's successful time at Wisconsin. I think if there's one coach you take without Alvarez, it's Chryst, he's actually really good at what he does.

That be a hard sell, wouldn't it? I realize he has fond memories of FSU... but he's walking on water at his alma mater right now, just a couple years after his first relocation in 14 years. Dude's not climbing a ladder at this point, and the ceiling at Miami is probably just as high as at FSU. Not sure he's terribly motivated by extra dollars at this point either.

Patterson was just extended, but you have to wonder whether he was extended enough to resist a full assault from FSU.

Maybe. The Ducks just offered him new money though so we'll see what happens.
Some in Tallahassee think he is a good choice, but the ones I know and put stock in don't want any part of him. Never coached in the big time, and has no idea how to manage a top 5 program. Most can't believe how quickly they settled in him...looks a lot like a PC move. The ACC will probably like him there....likely a 7-5 coach.

Hard to believe that figure honestly. The ACC can be tough, but even a mediocre coach should be able to put 9 wins up every single season there. I think taggarts offense would do well with that talent, too. Maybe not a championship guy, but better than 7-5.

The athletic department at FSU is chock full of some of the stupidest people imaginable. They could have had virtually any coach they wanted, save the obvious ones, and they jumped at a guy like Taggart. He will bring a staff of guys who have no ties to the south, big time football, or understanding how to deal with boosters. Another "Mike London-look how PC we are" hire. He will force them to fire him in 3-4 years, and Clemson will have a firm grip on the ACC

I can't really comment on their AD, but Clemson has a pretty firm grip already lol

Not sure about any of his staff but Taggart is from the Tampa area I believe and he basically put USF football on the map so he has ties to Florida plus he is one hell of a recruiter. With the speed and talent FSU can get I think he would do pretty well there with that uptempo offense.

Yep, gonna get his team in 51-45 games like they do in the Pac12....how has that worked out as being a title contender? FSU is truly barking up the wrong tree with this guy...soft and flashy hasn't ever won anything

With Mullen at UF, Richt at Da U and UCF, USF and FAU making noise + a resurgent UGAg (yet to be proven), Clempsun, Awburn, Bama, etc. - FSU could become an also-ran pretty quickly if Jimbo leaves and they F up the hire.

Did I miss the part where jimbo has actually been confirmed to be leaving?

It's a wink nod thing. He won't "say" until after they play their last game. I think the fact that Taggart has an actual offer tells you which way it's going, though.
