Gotsis arrested [Updated: CASE DROPPED]

No weapon used (knife, gun, etc.). Might have looked something like this...

He was penalized for that one too, right?

Super hard for the innocent to mount a good defense so long after the fact. Hard to remember what you did some random day 5 years ago, much less who can provide alibis and what evidence might exonerate you.

Its terrible if it is true, but my standard is not to believe people who wait until someone is famous or wealthy to accuse them of such a heinous crime.

Fwiw, I know someone who definitely wasn't raped decide she was after spending too much time around some crazy feminist sjws. Maybe I'm just jaded about how much someone's recollection of something can change.

I just don't get the length of time here....five years!!! If I was assaulted, I sure as hell wouldn't wait five years. Sorry, but true or not, I find it hard to believe someone who waits for what reason. Hope this isn't true as I have always believed Tech men have the highest standards.
What the hey is going on with Tech athletics the last few years....we are Georgia Tech and SHOULD DO BETTER.

Five years is what it is. Since Gotsis was arrested it is apparently within the statute of limitations for the crime he is accused of committing. May all of the evidence be presented and verdict rendered appropriately.

Would be interested in knowing whether she reported it to GT at the time.

Looked it up. Appears to be 15 years according to what I found.

Hope not.

How do you go about proving a rape five years after the fast?

How do you go about defending yourself from a rape charge five years after the fact?

So, can he be deported for this?

Tech men don't get arrested often, but when we do we make it count. Murdering, raping, and dungeoning kids are really next level achievements in the Fulmer Cup race. A lot more impressive than getting a suspended license on a moped like those dumbasses in Athens.
Don't forget mailing a brick of weed to your on-campus mailbox from California.

Do you really not know what it means
I don’t in the context you’re using it in. I guess “not uncommon” means “common.” Do you mean the majority of women sexually assaulted wait 5 years to report it?

If so, I’m not saying you’re wrong. But if I had to bet, I’d bet the majority report it very soon after the fact.

I used to think: no person would stoop to a level of lying about being raped and destroy someone’s life. I don’t believe that anymore.

Evidence of a trauma is likely to be gone. Witnesses’ recollection is likely to be suspect. DNA evidence is likely gone. Maybe a cell phone recording exists. You’ve got the issue of her promiscuity before and since that time. And then the obvious motive to get him to pay for her lack of cooperation with the police.

Well, this certainly sucks...

Some kind of weird wording in here...

"Strong arm" rape? I guess I understand what they mean but I'm not sure I've heard it worded that way.

Overcoming the will? Who writes like this?

Sounds as though it is undetermined whether any charges will actually be filed and the Broncos are waiting to see instead of cutting him immediately. I think the chances of this being BS are pretty high. If so, just WTF? Actually, if not, also WTF.

I feel like outside of a video or people saying they saw him do it then there's nothing really they can do at this point to prove him guilty.

I don't think "common" and "majority" are the same thing.

I hope he's innocent and he should be given the benefit of the doubt unless something is proven. However, I'm not going to assume the woman is simply a liar because she waited five years to report an alleged assault. Women often aren't believed or are coerced into silence even when they immediately go to the police (Jameis Winston situation comes to mind).

I'd say that her decision to come forward now is very likely financially motivated, but the possibility that he raped her and the possibility that she's looking for a payday and/or vengeance aren't mutually exclusive.

Hopefully she really is just a lying bitch, though.

In Georgia, the statute of limitations for sexual assault is 4 years. For rape, its 15 years.

Since its between 4 and 15 years since the incident, there may be an incentive to re-characterize what happened as rape since anything less....
