New Lockerrooms Unveiled

Great article by Ken on the new locker room:

Some key takeaways:
  • cabinets specifically made large enough for laptops, outfitted with power outlets and USB ports
  • retinal scanners and “self-healing” laminate
  • Off the locker room is a drink station, complete with a machine that makes Powerade slushies.
  • A hot tub big enough for 11 people and a cold tub large enough for 18 is separated from the locker area by a floor-to-ceiling glass wall. The tubs’ water is maintained with an ultraviolet filtration system, as no power-conference team should have to prepare to defeat Clemson while distracted by the stench of chlorine.
  • One of the first elements of the locker room to greet visitors is a “swag display” – a cluster of eight, hexagonally shaped, brightly lit cases built into a wall that will feature the Jackets’ Adidas-designed gear.
  • The lockers were made with a material called nanoLam, which is scratch-resistant, anti-microbial and can repair scratches with a “magic eraser” or a heated iron.

Is our warm water dispenser in the stands similar to the drink station? How many drink bottles does the team get? Maybe 1 for the OL, 1 for RB's, 1 for QB's....etc.....

This stuff is more important than snarky fans think. It will pay off in helping Tech make a better impression on top recruits.

Do enough of this stuff and things change.

You’re right. Think about this: Jimbo Fisher, though he left for a lot of reasons, was tired of not getting the facilities upgrades he wanted (or not getting them fast enough).

Do you think he wants facilities to be upgraded for vanity? No. It’s because it MATTERS with recruits.

I'm sorry, I don't do impressions

My buddy, huge FSU fan and his wife, FSU grad, have been griping about Jimbo for several years now. They were glad to see him out. aTm could have gotten him much cheaper, probably

How huge is your friend? And their sentiments may not have matched the entire fanbase. Besides, they had one of the only 4 active coaches with a natty right now. Hard to easily let that go.

My cousin does ESPN sideline reporting for FSU and he echoed what the other guy said. The overwhelming majority were sick of Jimbo. My cousin said he was a total ass to everyone in and around the program and no one was sad to see him nor was anyone surprised.

That's dumb, though. Jimbo's a great recruiter, a great coach, and now they have... Willie Taggart? Maybe he'll do fine, but I don't believe that FSU can just coast to titles like their fans think they can. Especially with Clemson looming as large as they are.

He kept a scumbag around to help him win a championship. Other than that, his performance was below FSU expectations while Clemson has passed them at the prominent team of the Atlantic and appeared to be pulling away from FSU. Hell, FSU has always gotten talent, but other than Winston, who should have been booted, Jimbo did extremely poor at getting and developing a decent QB.
