Water station report

Like virtually every security policy, the ones at Tech are inept and ineffective. BAR, but those wands are worthless. I have carried a handgun right through that type of security (where it was LEGAL but against the “rules”), and it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out how. Additionally, my wife is one of those people who always manages to confuse the piss out of security and walk right through without a second look. She’s never carrying anything, other than maybe a lighter, but she just hates being accosted and somehow manages to avoid it. Much like the TSA, it’s really only an inconvenience for those trying to just enjoy their day.

Ded serious. If you stood there and waved it in and back, I'd toss it. I obviously don't get into "watersports" like you do.
You probably also believe essential oils are something other than perfume.

I'm not sure I want the answer but what exactly do you do in the restroom?

So far I’ve received both USF and Pitt tix from our ticket office, and both of them included notices that they have the same bag policy we’re using now. (Both play in NFL stadiums, which seems to be where the policy started.)

Seems like it’s becoming a pretty wide standard.

ALERT:

Washing your Nalgene in the washing machine will result in it melting. The plastic is so cheap that the thing came out floppy like a deflated balloon. Back to $4 water.

well hell son, if you put white whiskey in the bottle, the bottom melts as well like gasoline in a styrofoam cup. i was madified because that was my cup of sippin gasoline for the drive from Lula Gorge down to your mom's nappy dugout.

It looks like TS heard the bitching and moaning loud and clear. I could honestly give a damn because just go buy a Dasani #$80k... but for those who do care, perhaps the message here is that TS and the athletic dept do at least listen to their customers. Props for that.

Hmmmm... I wonder if they're listening to their customers this week?? :inout:

Georgia Tech addressing water-filling station shortage
Georgia Tech has made adjustments for fans at Bobby Dodd Stadium in advance of Saturday’s game against Clemson (3 p.m., WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News).

The athletic department has added 54 points of access for water bottles and also added 13 fans and misters to help fans cool off. For the season opener against Alcorn State on Sept. 1, there were 12 water stations and four large fans and misters.

The department has added one more large fan and mister and 12 smaller fans/misters, which will be located throughout the stadium. The 66 points of access (many of which are water stations with multiple spigots or faucets) will be at 21 locations.

Through last season, season-ticket holders were permitted to bring in food and drink from outside the stadium, but that policy changed as part of the department’s new safety measures. Fans can bring in empty plastic water bottles.

However, there were reports of long lines at the stations during the season opener, and that was for a game with an announced attendance of 39,719, well short of capacity. Attendance figures will likely be larger for Saturday’s game.

The high temperature Saturday is expected to be 90 degrees, according to Channel 2 Action News.

I like Stansbury. Things are rarely perfect for Version 1.0, but he's shown that he is willing to make adjustments and continue to listen to the fans. 100% improvement over do-nothing Bobinski.

That's a really fast turnaround for adding 54 (!) new water sources. Not to be ungrateful, but I do hope they didn't half-ass it to get it done quickly. (Like those "next time I'll wear gold" signs that were a decent idea, but fell off the walls within a couple of weeks and years later there's still epoxy residue where the signs used to be.)

But yeah, good that they're being responsive. The misters will be nice, too. This week will be a much stouter test of the new security stuff and other in-stadium changes than Alcorn State was.

Definitely a pet peeve of mine as well.

Yea, öööö Stansbury. Letting us bring a few bottles of water in isn't a safety issue. He just pussied down to the security theater

I hear the colors orange and purple are gang colors. Are they going to let these colors enter our stadium?

That many water stations won’t be necessary this weekend -half the stadium with be Clemson fans and they don’t have a GT water bottle. Orange water bottles are not allowed in the stadium.

Sunday sports byline: "Georgia Tech fans unable to flush toilets in Grant Field due to lack of water pressure. All fans urged to get checked for e-coli infection."
