Is that more of a "annoyed he hasn't been cleared" or "annoyed he's been cleared, but hasn't felt ready"?
Sounded to me like he was annoyed with the medical staff for not clearing him. Said he went through conditioning drills the other day and was fine. But he hasn’t been cleared for contact. And he’s not gonna play him until he’s had contact at practice (which is why he all but ruled him out for USF yesterday).

After this game, I will be keeping an eye on our opponent 3rd down conversion percentage to see how we are doing relative to previous seasons. A bit early to draw definite conclusions but think by after the Pitt game, something positive should begin to emerge (at least I hope so).

Last year GT under Roof was 11 in third down conversions. Going to be hard to top that...! I thought our defense had improved but we were not winning and then this was brought to my attention....

But, and this is a big but (I cannot deny), third downs were only 20 percent of 1st down conversions... they did not need third downs!

I'm really hoping we get Cooper back for Pitt and especially Clemson. I think our best o-line starting 5 is going to be

Bryan, Braun, Lee, Cooper, Marshall.

Although Braun Lee Bryan isn't a bad GCG combo. I'm interested in seeing how they perform.

CPJ said in the presser yesterday that Cooper was starting to practice this week and should be “unleashed” on Monday. From there it’ll be a week-to-week decision whether he gets some series based on how he looks in practice. So trending towards playing some against Pitt and a little more against clemson.

I just checked the stats from last year's UGa game. UGa had a total of nine 3rd downs. They converted six of them. For the game, however, UGa had 23 first downs. So if six of the 23 came from converting third down, I think that means 17 of them came when it was first or second down. Geez, that sucks.

I'm assuming that the 23 first downs were all earned - by that I mean that you don't get credited for a first down by receiving a kickoff or a punt. Pretty sure that is correct.

App state held them to 5 of 14. 14 third downs versus 9 for GT. Big difference!

cfb stats shows the gaggers with 18 third downs (and 7 conversions) against App St. last year. Also, UGa had a total of 18 first downs (3 of which came on penalties) so subtract the penalty conversions and the 3rd down conversions and you get 8 first downs from either first or second down as opposed to 17 against us. Yikes - that really highlights how bad our D was last year.
