The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in Ruston, La. They need some experience @ QB & he may be the answer. If I were Taylor I'd get my hard earned, nice looking Ga Tech degree & jog off into the business world. Young Mr Bennett evidently desires to knock heads once again to get a scholarshipped jump on a masters degree.
Here's a very nice column about Taylor's visit to Ruston by Jimmy Watson of The Shreveport Times.

He'd be playing for a Dooley (Vince's son). That's almost as bad.

My mom didn't go with my to visit the campus of either school I went to...and she hasn't seen where I lived in all the years I have been at Tech...now I feel kind of unloved.

In 2006, Bennett started for the Yellow Jackets against West Virginia in the Toyota Gator Bowl and completed 19 of 26 passes for 326 yards and six touchdowns in Tech's 38-35 loss.
Lets see, GT scored 35 points, but Taylor threw 6 TD's 6x7 = 42. What happened!?!?

(I know, he only threw 3 TD's. paper screwed up, but how can they screw u so bad?)

They even screwed up his passing attempts. He was 19 of 29 (no, I didn't have that in memory - I checked ESPN).

You know, some people actually like their parents and remain close to them even in adulthood. Older, wiser counsel is always a good thing in making that kind of a decision.

I.E. Quit being a d-bag.

So I guess Mommy should escort him to his job interview as well after he graduates?

At this point in your career you should be independent enough to make your own decisions like what Grad Program would be best, however, it's not a bad idea to consult with your parents, but having them go with you to visit? That's a little much.

Call me a D-bag to say something like that if you want, but it just makes me realise why we didn't have a leader at QB this past season; he does not have what it takes to make his own decisions and this LA Tech visit just confirms it.

Or, his mom has never been there and was curious about the school and campus?

But this is just a typical over reaction from you.

Who cares?

We were, what, one of two teams to give him an offer?

A chance at a great education. When his time came, he NEVER had to worry about anyone else competing for his job.

And when a new coach comes in, he says so long teammates. This is all about me. I don't care to see if there is any other way I might contribute to my school or team. It is more important that I start. No matter where it is.

Maybe he should read up about Stan Gann and men like that.

It is a different world now. Too bad.

I agree with TechGator.. Taylor is too old to have his Mom there.. and GSU.. for what its worth.. most people are no longer children, legally, when they pass 18... My parents didnt even know what I was majoring in until I was near the end of my Jr. year in college, and they werent giving me money to go either.. werent buying gas.. werent buying groceries.. I was over 18 years of age.. my life was mine ...

Sometimes a word has more than one definition (click here)

Who cares if your parents helped you through college? I know I don't give a crap. Don't come in here saying that because you are some badass that funded his entire way through college walking to school everyday in the snow uphill both ways that someone's mom has no say in their educational future.

Wow, so when did you cut the ties man? What is your mom allowed to do? Can she come over for dinner? What about visiting on holidays? Get a grip. What in that article makes you think his mom has any say about what he does? She's probably just interested. Most moms are, sorry yours wasn't.

So, did you want Chan gone? I think I remember you as being one that did. If not, forget this next part. So, was it the Coach's fault or the player's fault. Because it seems like you're ready to throw anyone and everyone under the bus just so you can feel like a man behind your computer screen.

TB was exactly what you want in a player. He came in too small and worked hard and made himself into an ACC starter. He never blamed anyone else for failures of the team. He never threw any WR's or OL's under the bus (when the rest of us were). He played his role until he got the chance to start and did it the best he could. He had some brilliant moments and some failures. He had some times when he could have been great with a little more help from other players. And, he won more than he lost. He always represented GT well, never got in trouble, and won the confidence of his teammates as a leader. If we had gotten any other coach but CPJ, he would've probably been a 2 year starter and with good QB coaching may have been pretty darn good as a senior. How is he gonna contribute in an option offense, when he's not an option QB? It makes perfect sense that he's going to graduate on time and go get a masters degree from another school with one more shot to play QB in college. The fact that he wants to just means he hasn't given up and still has competitive fire. So, just because he doesn't try to avoid his parents, you want to act like you're more man than him pretty much sheds more light on you than him. Taylor's a good dude (and could probably whip your *** if it came down to it). I don't know you, so I can't say you're a d-bag. But, I can say that, in my opinion, you did make some d-bag comments on this subject.

GSU.. no disrespect intended to anyone, I was simply stating facts, especially you. I just happen to disagree with you... anyone over the age of 18 is not a child, and a "man" who is 21 or 22 years old is not a child... or wasnt when I was coming along (I am 45)... I happen to think alot of Taylor and appreciate all he did for Tech... have alot of admiration for his guts and fortitude... I just do not believe that someone that age should have their parents along for the ride ... its time to stand alone...

If he wants his parents there, that is his call. If he needs his parents there, then he has problems. My guess would be that the school invited him and his parents to take a look at the campus (since they are set up to recruit HS kids).
