There's relishing and there's obsession. 2014 was nice but clearly a flash in the pan and also almost 5 years ago. To continue worshiping it is kinda like the guy in his 20s who keeps talking about how great his HS years were.
Since when is 4 years "almost 5 years ago"?

Sometimes I think we have the most self-loathing fans in CFB. We’re never better than the teams we beat. Something always has to be wrong with them. USCw didn’t want to be at the Sun Bowl. Miss St. didn’t have a DC even though Dan Mullen is a defensive genius. Whenever we beat UGA it’s because it’s the worst team they’ve had in years. It’s never because our guys wanted it more or were the better team.

IIWII. It's never as good or as bad as it seems.

The fanbase is just a reflection of that average "Meh" attitude.

I think we'll be surprised at how long CPJ stays coaching. It's all he's ever done as a job for 40 years, and he always says he won't stop until he doesn't enjoy it. If he still enjoyed it after 2015 and 2017, I think it's safe to say bad seasons won't really get to him.

i was certainly surprised. Talk about your posts that didn't age well
It has been a crazy time. We wanted to fire CPJ, then we were all sure he was coming back, then he retired out of the blue, then we thought we were getting a boring NFL retread, then we got Collins and we are hyped to the moon. Nuts!

Atleast he got to play that game with his own recruits not like Paul
yeah, 9-6 loss to Wake MF'in Forest.
Nothing like one of Tech's biggest postseason wins in history in the Orange Bowl or anything.
Were those Chan's recruits too?
And didn't we lose some scholarships because of the football program's academic failings - losses of scholarships that would have affected the team PJ took over and led the next couple of years?

Exactly! CPJ did more with Chan's recruits than Chan did, all while implementing a unique offense that none of them had played in. I'm not sure why people ever brought up the "Chan's recruits" thing.
