I can't remember in my 61 years seeing a D-1 program totally inept at the forward pass. There is no excuse for that with a P-5 program. Heck, what kind of records would the 2014 & 2016 have had with zero passing threat. Hopefully James Graham will be the answer but he's got to have some WR's.
Also, if you don't see that our offensive system is a hindrance to recruiting defensive players then you are blind. It is not the Institute. Heck...Tenuta's "D" held UGA to under 20 points three years in a row. It is not the Institute's fault. A good coach with a good system can recruit at GT......PERIOD!
Finally, I don't know a thing about GT's President but I would be embarrassed to have any program from the Institute perform like GT did today. I would do whatever it took to remedy the problem. I'd have a little more pride than that.

I'm not as hung up on the postgame selfies as I am about the lack of fight and non-urgency demonstrated throughout the majority of the game.

Yes, why tell the media your team's chances are slim to none? So your players will give up? Well.....it worked.

This thread is as good as any for my thoughts after attending the disaster in the cesspool:

We are falling behind in every way imaginable and the gap is getting bigger. It may seem pedantic, but the season long bitching about our PA and General game environment is a big part we need to improve and need to do it ASAP. The gameday at uga is a finely scripted stage performance and it’s impressive. They are using everything in that stadium to create an environment for success and maximum disruption for the other team. Their fans feed off it. Their team feeds off it.

Meanwhile, we can’t even get our PA working half the time and when it does, we are doing stupid öööö like a kids cam with YMCA, Sweet Caroline and Vanessa ööööing Carlson. Our environment sucks in large part due to the disjointed, halfassed production.

On a football front, there isn’t much to say other than recruiting sucks, coaching sucks, gameplans suck, and the execution/players suck. It feels like when we win, it’s because we trick them. We don’t man up and actually beat people. On the other hand, it feels like we are getting our asses stomped more and more frequently.

I finally got tired of what I saw and left at the end of the 3rd. It was weird sitting there and hearing everyone around me ridiculing our coach and not the usual nerds stuff. The worst part was that there was no retort because everything they were saying was pretty accurate.

Just a ööööty day all around.

When the opposing fans are calling for you to go for it on 4th down, that's a very bad thing. They loved CPJ today

I genuinely think you should send your well worded thoughts on the game day experience to Todd Standbury and whoever else. Our game day experience is not even worth laughing at it’s so pathetic.

Find the consultants and pay them. Now.

Our glaring weaknesses in so many areas are so completely obvious when we go on the road. On and off the field is all part of the same loser bureaucracy mentality.

If I weren’t so depressed over it, I would.

Every gap in play was met with uga heroes being introduced and the band would on cue play the fight song after the intro. The music was used to disrupt the game and charge the crowd, but not played over the uga band or fan cheers that were already going.

We have more tradition and things to brag about than that pos cow college. Every break in play needs to be about that stuff rather than free shirts thrown out, dance cams, find the French fry, or whatever other stupid öööö we do to squeeze a dime out of some sponsor.

The defensive players of 2003-06 were generally not very highly recruited. Either by luck or good coaching, the players developed to be the #23 defense in 2005 and #19 defense in 2006, according to S&P+ defensive rankings. In 2007, the defense went down to #63. We still had Tenuta and a pro-style offense.

I keep seeing this narrative of the great Tenuta defenses which forget that 2007 happened.

I’m being serious though, send your thoughts to Todd and company after you cool down. This is such a low hanging and easily fixable thing it’s ridiculous that’s it’s even a thing. With all the IE and process analytic professionals that come out of Tech I can’t believe this has been allowed to slide for so long. Our PA system is competing with our band and crowd. It makes no sense. Every gap in play is met with some absurd game or crap. I don’t want to see your selfie with a hashtag on the big screen at the next time out, I want us to shake BdS with the YJ chant.

As good of a place as any, but we put up 219 yards of offense and scored one offensive touchdown for the second week in a row. @johncu @18in32 still want to make asinine arguments about how great our OFEI is?

Stats are stats, man. When we play well, they go up. When we play poorly, they go down. We definitely played poorly today, and they're gonna go down. Is this interesting?

öööö I hate the internet.

What I find interesting is your willingness to bury your head in the sand, figuratively speaking. You claim this statistic as an indicator we're a good offense despite all the evidence to the contrary and, when it's exposed that you're wrong, you make posts like the above. So, here goes:

You're wrong. We didn't play poorly. We played exactly to our capabilities. Playing poorly would be fumbling the ball. We are a poor offense which relies too heavily on executing 3 to 4 plays perfectly to get first downs against average or better defenses. Over the course of a full series, the margin of error is too small to expect consistent success especially against better teams. The result is our statistics are inflated against the poor teams on our schedule and our deviation when facing good teams is more exaggerated than the oversimplified statistics would suggest. At the end of the day, the same statistics you've used to argue that we're a good offense will still say that we are after today. Maybe not as good, but still top 25 in those categories. So, do you still believe we're a top 25 offense?
