I don’t want CPJ lite. Time to move away from the option and aim higher staff.

Neither Ken or Monken are PJ lite
Joke was in the quoted post

Like I said I doubt GT will keep the PJ Spread Option attack. I wish Monken would have stayed at GSU, but if I had a HC and staff that would replace GSUs current FB staff it would be Ken N. his OC and his staff!

C&C Trophy - Don't aim low!

Navy controlled the trophy from 2003 to 2009, marking one of the longest times any academy has had possession of the prestigious trophy.

This was from his introductory press conference at Army. I love his attitude and determination.

There are good logical reasons to go with Monken or Niumatalolo, and I think we could eventually go back to the Orange Bowl with either one. Either one could keep us on a winning track without a painful rebuild. Personally I like watching the triple option when we have a good QB, and like GT having an identity.

However, a large part of the fan base is tired of the TO and too many of the dullards think the TO is the root of our problems. To get some unity back in the fan base GT needs to go a different direction. I am kind of numb to what direction that will be; but I hope it is with a young and promising coach like Elliot or Sattefield; and not an Art Briles or Mike Leach

I wonder how much of the fanbase really IS tired of the TO, or have the TO haters just become louder since CPJ resigned. There's usually not a large mob of people screaming, "I like things the way they are!" I believe most fans just want a winning team.

The TO haters have been pretty vocal for the past 3 or so years. I don't know that they have gotten louder since Johnson resigned. Maybe they were really just tired of Johnson; but Johnson and the TO are so tightly linked it is hard to know, and I doubt if they really know.

GSU tried to get Ken's offensive coordinator 5 years back before HC Fritz & his Pistol Option came to GSU. At the time Ken's OC had a son with a brain tumor and NAVY and the community were helping him out and did not want to take the GSU head coaching job. If you wanted to keep the Spread Triple under a competent Head Coach and OC than Ken would be your man.

I dont see GT replacing PJ with another Spread T-Option HC. I think GT will try something else.
Yea, and when given the option to go to coach his dream job at BYU, he stayed at Navy. His heart is in Annapolis.

I'd take Monken in a millisecond.
I would too but like aeromech said, it’s probably best for our fanbase to steer away from the option. It sucks because I truly think Monken can elevate us past where CPJ has us, but we’re never gonna get that chance to find out.

Ken's had 1 double digit win season since he took over for Paul, and he's had three straight years of worsening records. Why is Navy so bad this year btw?

I think Monken is the better choice- he has taken bad teams and made them very good, and he is still on an upward trajectory.

I would take Monken. Hate to break Navy's heart twice.

As for Navy this year, they started Perry as QB, and the offense devolved into QB Keepers as the primary, secondary, and sometimes tertiary plays. Then, they put the backup QB in for some starts, and he fumbled a lot. Then, they returned to last year's initial starter, Abey. Each got 3-4 starts. Crazy.
