Collins is the top Candidate

Ya. Bout time we flung öööö around ourselves and actually play the recruiting game for real.

That’s a plus in my book.
I think I'm with you. Tony Elliott is exciting, but probably squeaky clean. Maybe we could use a little dirt in this program.

Dear Stingtalk Archiver,

Please note which Stingtalkers are backing which candidate. When the hell to pay bill comes due, we need to know where to send it.

kthanks,
BS

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that I, gtphd, a poster on STINGTALK.COM, hereby announce my backing for:

Nicholas Lou Saban, Jr. (“The Dark Lord”)

of Tuscaloosa, Alabama as the next HEAD FOOTBALL COACH of the Georgia Institute of Technology Yellow Jacket Varsity Gridiron Football Team of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

This ANNOUNCEMENT entitles me to mock every current or future coaching hire without backlash as The Dark Lord is clearly superior to all.

FWIW, demjackets was all for bringing Collins back in when CPJ was hired to help with recruiting.

The main difference between Collins and Elliott is their personality.

Elliott is a smart introvert who is serious and down to the Xs and Os, offensive minded. Collins on the other hand is an outspoken eccentric defensive minded coach.

Brent Key is better at recruiting than Collins. By far.
I guess it's well known that you are highly backing Key, but if that's not an option, what's your take on Elliott? Do you think there's a lot that's gone on that we (public) don't know about yet? How or why have we not at least contacted him, or do you imagine talks have been going on with agents and just haven't officially interviewed him yet?

Lol. Who cares. If he’s leading recruiting at Alabama that’s part of his job.

Is he the guy that pulled Chris Jackson away and got Colin Peek to transfer?
Yeah, I don't get this. It's his job to recruit, and recruiting ain't done until the faxes come through. I'm not sure there's anything unethical about persuading GT commits to follow you to a new school as long as the ring isn't on the finger yet.

Come to think of it, maybe he could pull some Bama (EDIT: sorry, Temple, I thought this was about Brent Key for a second) guys our way. That'd be nice. That's wishful thinking.

Key would be great on staff, not sure he's seasoned enough for a head gig yet.

Damn, I had completely forgotten about Chris Jackson.

What was it that Collins did to burn bridges?
Recruited Colin Peek away from playing at Tech to transfer to Alabama and during the process said a whole lot of negative things about Tech to other coaches, recruits and IIRC even to one media source.
