Do we need another QB commit?

Have you guys seen us pass block?

Our QB better be mobile next year because he’s gonna be running for his life.

No, I haven't seen us pass block from a shotgun formation with splits that aren't a mile wide.

A legit grad transfer would be a good plan. Either a Jr or Sr who graduated and is transferring to go into our MBA program or something. He could play right away and would fill a void of an upper classman QB. He becomes a security blanket in case one of these young guys fails to thrive in the new system. Since everyone is learning a new offense, it’s not like he would be at a big disadvantage.

Yeah. Depending on the offense, a grad transfer could be huge at QB. Already 5/6 Qbs on the Market

Riley Neal (2 year starter / hurt this year at Ball State, 2 years to play) seems to be the most polished.

Isn't Lucas the QB we got from out West

If he has the talent to throw 25-35 times a gm vs. P5 competition, then there has to be a reason that very few P5 schools out West wanted him as a QB, IIRC we were his only P5 offer at QB, I think he had some G5 offers IIRC

Please correct me if I'm wrong about Lucas
Pretty sure he had an offer from Cal, who was running Air Raid at the time. He's supposed to be a pretty decent passer, as is James Graham. Yates is also plenty capable, although we haven't gotten him on campus yet.

I'm honestly not worried about QB. Not if we adapt the offense to the skill set we have, which is exactly what CGC said he would do.

QB is the least of my offensive worries. He’s gonna be as good or bad as the OL. And they definitely have a big transition ahead of them.

Agreed. I think we have bigger needs than QB, but as another poster mentioned, it all depends on the OC. I personally hope we run pistol, which would hopefully be an easier transition for all involved.

Grad transfer would be good. Our backups are under classmen. It would be good for them to learn the system for a year before getting thrown in the fire. Plus it gives the OL a year to bulk up since they won’t be playing low and light anymore.

Hope everyone is getting a chance to watch this kid Yates playing in the championship at the Benz. Special talent and can already tell he has that “it” factor. He’s going to be one of the best QBs we have had on the flats!

Biggest rednecks in GA live in Colquitt County. Jesus H, they have THE worst accents known to man.

Great win for Milton, and nice to see that Yates was wearing GT gloves during tonight's game.

Yates was impressive tonight.
I hope he stays committed. Anyone know if he plans to sign early?

Yes, we need this guy.

Yates went 13/23 for 177 yards 1td passing and 25 rushes for 96 yards. From what I've seen he'll fit well in CGC's offensive scheme. He is a true dual threat and defeated the top two programs to start and end the season at MBS. Colquitt was to play for the HS national championship had they won.

Super impressive. I like his demeanor also. I noticed he engaged with some of the kids on the sidelines, which tells me he doesn't have an ego problem. He also looks like one of those athletes that the game has slowed down for them. He's going to push for the starting QB position in the fall IMHO.

Yates reminded me of Reggie Ball last night. I don't mean that in a bad way but that's who he looked like.
