5* UGAg recruit received brand new Ford Raptor yesterday...

They're clearly the smartest program in the state. I'm not allowed to teach there because one summer I taught a joint class between colleges. When grades were released, the distribution was very similar to my standard grade distribution. What I neglected to notice (and was subsequently banned for) was that well over 50% of the uGA "engineers" failed my class. The uGA course had like a 1.3 average GPA and the Tech course had a 3.6 GPA.
Not sure who is big crying you. UGA lurkers? I dont know why this would surprise anybody. Even though I think UGA is a fine state school, the GT students should do better at engineering than their less-rigorous engineering neighbors in Athens.

What course was it?

Every time he tells a lie I bigcry him.

This. You guys do realize that 4 years at the high school he went to has cost ~$280k right? The availability of funds for his family is not an issue.

FYI, he only went to IMG for 2 years, but he was also at private school prior; Calvary Day in Savannah, where we signed D'quan Douse.

No idea if his parents have a ton of money or not, but it's a little less of a blatant dirty recruiting gift than when some dirt poor rural kid gets a new Camaro. Getting a new truck as a reward for working hard for years and earning a college scholarship (and being the #1 recruit) seems feasible. I've heard he's a good kid, for what it's worth.

UGA def cheats tho.

Its completely feasible that his parents bought it for him- a lot of people from my high school had Raptors and other unreasonably expensive cars as a teenager, some had multiple.

What IS suspicious to me is the timing of the gift, both the day and time of day, and the fact that neither parent is around when he receives it. NCAA won't look into it though and definitely won't do anything about it, so it doesn't really matter.

Majoring in engineering. Kirby says he chose the best engineering school in GA...said it with a straight face.
Please tell me someone is a link to some video of Shart saying this.

If his parents bought it, they're idiots for giving it to him on that day, and he's an idiot for posting it. He's risking an NCAA investigation.

I found it feasible a PHD bro from GT is certainly capable of teaching an engineering class. Why would he lie about this? You probably know more about this situation than I do, though.

Anybody who believes "Fake Punt Kirby," when he says that UGA-Athens is the best engineering school in the state, would not be smart enough to get into Tech, anyway. Why doesn't old "Fake Punt Kirby" just tell the truth: "If you don't care about getting an education, want a free $70,000 truck, and always dreamed about having the guys from the movie "Deliverance" paint their faces red and bark at you, just come back to Athens with me."

I suppose you're talking to coit. He'll tell you that I didn't go to GT, don't have a PhD, and never taught there. He's a 60 year old man with regrets about his life. He deals with these regrets by creating a false narrative where those who have something he values don't really have those things.

It's pathetic, really. This is the guy who mocks my 1 year old's name. Block him. It will make your Stingtalk experience 100x better.

You should block me too.

Wow you guys must have some serious history on this board. I personally think too many stingtalkers take the anonymous internet tough guy act too far, but this board is still far better than any other GT board so I take the good with the bad.

Good for the recruit to at least think abt trying to major in Engr

Didn't we sign a player from IMG last recruiting class

If we did, Why didn't TPR be all over this recruit?

Even when there are academic qualifiers GT does poorly at getting these guys to take a serious look at GT

Yet another in the win column for Boaty
You again. Lighten up man.

Another poster nailed it. Look at the writing style. This is WrecksAndEffect. Someone who is NOT a GT fan but rather looking to latch on to NFL prospects and ride their coattails to...who knows where. Total loser. Surprised I didn’t see it before.
