If his parents saved for 10 or so yrs for him to go to college and then he gets a full ride offer that includes $300 per month in CoA stipends, then it is very possible that his parents would take that money they'd been saving and make a down payment and get him a nice ride for getting that full scholly and saving them tons of money

1. Then they’re idiots for spending that money on a car. He’s going to need the cash it if he doesn’t make the NFL. The majority of 5* recruits don’t make it and uGA isn’t exactly known for coaching up guys.

2. Still idiots for giving it to him on NSD. Give it to him earlier or later, don’t risk an NCAA investigation.

3. He’s still an idiot for posting to social media.

4. This was clearly a booster gift.

This recruit's parents doesn't have to do crap to your liking and your timing nor do they have to do crap to the NCAA's liking either

The NCAA ain't the effin Federal Govt., it is a Rules Organization made up of voluntary members (colleges)

Your attitude above is why GT doesn't get 5* recruits like this guy, the attitude of smug, suburban, schmuck elitism, turns off most normal folks, and a majority of elite recruits come from "normal folks"

This Recruit secured a FB scholly likely to be worth 250K for an out of State player, and his parents wanted to top it off by getting him a Car, end of story

I know students from back when I was going to college that got cars because they secured certain academic scholarships that would save their parents money, why is he any different?

GT Folks whining & snitching hasn't done a damn thing to move the meter for GT FB

We should be asking why a kid that is the #2 overall player in the country that dreams about majoring in Engr isn't coming to our school, and if he does change majors then he should be doing it as a effing YELLOW JACKET

When it comes to crootin' , snitches get ditches which it why we gotta dig ourselves outta oblivion and onto the radar of good players that do qualify

Can we please ban WnE? He actively told recruits NOT to come to GT while CPJ was the coach. He is not a GT fan.

Oh wait I remember bbuzzoff now too. He’s another contender for who this guy is. Trying to build up a following to migrate back to his site so he can make money of recruiting news. This is why people are coming out so strongly in favor of CGC. They can make money off him and have access to NFL players.

1. Every single watch I own has appreciated. Private chef saves me money over eating out. That car will lose 50% of its value in 2-4 years.
2. "If you did nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about." It invites the NCAA into your life and your program. Not a good thing. Who knows what they'll find.

1. So now the standard for purchases is appreciation? Pretty sure you don't buy the cheapest food and cheapest clothes and cheapest cars that you could. That doesn't make those purchases foolish. It makes them consumption tailored to your particular tastes and preferences. Everybody does it. Even you. You have no idea if this purchase is having some kind of adverse impact on this family's long-term finances or not.
2. Nor sure what you're talking about, but if somebody asks who bought you the car, you just show them the bill of sale and the 'investigation' is over. You might watch too many movies where the serial killer starts sweating and the cop says, hey, did I hear something in your basement?
3. The whole point of social media is to share events in your life, especially exciting ones. This falls squarely in that purpose. Not a big deal.
4. I've got just as many negative assumptions about you, based on the little I know about you and stereotypes about "people like you," as you do about this kid and his family. Whatever your personal prejudices and assumptions, the reality is that you don't know. So insisting these folks are rule-breakers is pretty classless, IMHO.
 
Why the öööö does everything come back to watches when someone wants to debate @gtphd. The man likes nice watches, you like Apple watches wear that öööö
