I have some more coaching news

You would try, but you'd trip on the way there and the grill would go over your back and land upright with the charcoal in it.

And JWilly would run out of the north avenue apartments, start grilling ribs.

I don't know, but I can tell you who to ask-

Basically you tell a kid come to GT and when a scholarship open up your next on the list. Usually through academic problems or transfers 4-6 spots every year open up. Some spots open up because of medical issues and they give football up.

Who is this pro style quarterback that can throw it 40 times a game? He must be one of the 4-5 star kids we have out there waiting to come.

Someone please explain how oversigning above 85 works. Meaning, what happens if we sign 90 & we don’t get the attrition we’re expecting?
Looks like your ankle is sprained we'll get you that medical redshirt paperwork

Uhh.. coach my ankle is fine...

Just sign here son

We add another cheerleader on scholarship. Or Flag Corp.

My guess on the coaching news post is that it involves a man named “Johnson”.

If you think Jake Fromm or Tom Brady is who GT is looking for, you’ll be a little startled. Think Russell Wilson/Pat Mahomes/Kelly Bryant/etc. And if you’re expecting 50 passes a game, welll again you’re going to be surprised.

I just hope that whoever our QB is next year doesn't try to throw a pick on every other play like the Temple tape I've watched to this point. I'll lose my hype real quick.

Hmmm ....so this is why CGC says he's focusing on Defense and ST?

Temple's QBs had combined 123 yds rushing this year, and the 3rd stringer had 82 of those. Patenaude will have better runners at the position here. Hopefully, they will get yards with their feet instead of trying to force passes.

but I think i will wait until Christmas Eve to share. LOL

Seriously, it's basically Temple coaches as Collins said in his teleconference yesterday. I assume many here will be disappointed but iiwii.
I thought you were letting us know who was taking over for Pastner

I agree 100%. But I also love continuity on any team/staff (think Nebraska or Penn State back in the day). The Temple team was very good this year and should be great next year. I am hopeful we will be great by their 3rd year at GT. These guys are going to come in and all be on the same page from day one. Obviously, it will be a huge adjustment for the players but not for the staff. And 25-30 of the players will be new anyway come August.

Looking at the staff bios at Temple it appears there's a good amount of Georgia connections and also connections coaching around the southeast. Add in Double Deuce to that mix and they already seem like they'd be a good recruiting staff down here.

Andrew Thacker: coached at Kennesaw State, the Atlanta Falcons, UCF, Southern Miss
Nate Burton: of course played here as a 4 year letterman after being a walk-on, coached at NCSU, UT-Martin, West Alabama, and is also from Lilburn
Larry Knight: coached at Tennessee, Georgia State, and is from Augusta, GA
Stan Hixon: much traveled! Spent some good time at GT (I hope and pray he comes back here!!!), NFL experience with Washington (Santana Moss, Antwaan Randle-El) and Houston (Andre Johnson, DeAndre Hopkins) and Buffalo (Stevie Johnson) with a bunch of those guys recording 1000+ yard seasons! Coached at LSU on their 2003 National Championship team (head coach was Nick Saban), GT, Wake Forest, South Carolina...
Jim Panagos: Played at Maryland when they were still part of the ACC, coached at UCF (where he was FootballScoop.com DL coach of the year in 2009 AND his team beat UGA in the Liberty Bowl 10-6), and also coached in the NFL with the Vikings and at Rutgers... on a separate note I have a good friend in the coaching industry who both loves GT and who knows many of these coaches and when I told this person that Geoff was going to be our head coach the immediate response was to express hope that Geoff is able to take Jim Panagos with him down to GT!

We have a few kickers who could go.

We only have one scholarship kicker as of now. I do wonder if Wells might have to remain a walkon for another year, even though he has earned one.

I'm willing to trust the Coach and let it all shake out.
