Paul Johnson deserved better.

I respect what CPJ did for Tech, but at the half of this game, he told a sideline reporter the problem was the offense wasn't getting the ball enough. He was known for giving subtle answers throwing players ("we didn't execute" translated: I called the right play and y'all screwed up) and DCs under the bus. I'll remember him for beating the Dwags 3 times, and winning the OB in 2014. But this game is a fair indication of where the program was going, and why he probably chose to step away. iiwii

I'm not going to relitigate the whole CPJ era based on a bad loss in the worst possible bowl game with a lame duck staff and players who obviously didn't care to be there. There was a lot of good, some bad over the years. Would have preferred to see him go out with a win. It was time for a change, regardless.

I said this I'm the Gameday thread, but it bears repeating: the Belk Bowl was right. They didn't invite us and Auburn because they didn't want a non competitive, epic beatdown, bowl game. If Minnesota beats us as badly as they did, Auburn's better athletes would have murdered us

What I think Collins brings that a lot of the GT fans want desperately is conformity. Win or lose, Collins will do it in a manner that is more acceptable to the fan base.
