Don't they purposely breed the uga line in a way that causes health problems to achieve the look they want? For example, they can't deliver uga babies naturally, only via c-section; they often have a lot of respiratory problems; many of them die prematurely; etc.

EDIT: In fact, PETA even wrote an article about an uga death.

Oh I didnt realize Uga was a breed-within-a-breed line itself. I know that whole breed is no longer viable so it sounds like they have just made it even worse?

Why would they have an elephant? They're the Crimson Tide. That would be like the Auburn Tigers flying an eagle around before a game or the Georgia Dwags calling themselves a university. It's absurd.
"Mascot Identity." It all depends on what the mascot feels like.

It's college football, what does absurdity have to do with it?

It certainly is animal abuse. The sorry things have trouble breathing and have difficulties keeping a comfortable body temperature.
Then the stupid mutt handlers put a sweater on the poor thing and drag it out in 95 degree September heat and have 90000 maroons
scream at it. Blowing a fan on it and setting its butt on an icebag doesn't cut it. One of these unfortunate creatures is going to have to drop
dead during a game before anything is done about it.
