Sewak was one of the favorite whipping boys around here to blame problems on. Was that deserved? If so, why did he get to stay?
I'll be happy to splain it to you just as soon as I put down my juice.

Really? Next year, they open the season against Duke. Plus, they have Auburn, LSU, Miss St, and A&M. That's 5 good teams right there.
You have lost your mind. LSU and A&M are the only teams to even practice over out of those 5.

We won an Orange Bowl with Shaq and finished the season ranked 7/8. If Gailey had similar results with Calvin it would be an argument for him. The fact that he didn't is the argument against him.
So you're saying then that Sewak should get a boat load of credit for the 2014 success? More likely to me that the team overall and Shaq were successful despite Sewak not because of him, body of work supports that as well.

1. I know what most of Stingtalk thinks, I wanted to hear what JFL's perspective is. He's got a little better info than the rest of us.
2. Seems like Shaq is an argument for Sewak, not against.
He produced exactly two good OL players in his tenure, Shaq and Parker Braun. Good, driven kids will always be good, but he never once coached any of the players up. It seemed like nobody ever really got better with him at OL coach.

No, I'm saying that I don't understand why someone would use Shaq as an argument against Sewak when he was one of the few bright spots. As I read jdub's post again, I think maybe he meant that Shaq was the reason that Sewak didn't get fired.

I agree with you and given other changes CPJ made I figured his desire to win would mean he would fire or demote Sewak even if they're friends. Hence I was curious to hear JFL's input. Figured he knows a little more than those on here speculating that Sewak has incriminating photos of CPJ.

Pretty sure those days are over, no matter who is to credit or blame. Time to get with 2019.

Howard, Bedford, Uzzi, Mason, and Braun were multi-year all conference selections. Guys like Gardner and Burden also made all conference teams. Outside of the factories, Tech put as many players on the OL all conference team as the rest of the league during Sewak's tenure. It's never as good or as bad as it seems.
