re: Braun - does anyone know how well he would've done as a traditional, stand-up OL rather than an ankle-diver?
This just means more PT for our younger OL under Coach Key.

Best to Parker if this is true. I'm not going to bash anyone in a transition year in regard to past or present coaches. Hopefully things will go well for all involved. We have no idea what Parker's goals or ambitions are or really any part of the decision process.

Considering his brother publicly bashed GT - our anemic fan base and lame (his words) game day atmosphere, I don’t think he was coming.
I have no knowledge but I bet Parker and his brother both go to Florida. If they do, hope they play in the SECCG next year.
Correct we had no chance with his brother who I think is a junior. I think they both go to UF. Hope Parker wins an SEC title next year. He will have to work hard to start as an unknown there but he is such a hard worker, he should do well. Congrats to him getting that GT degree!

My first words were “if true”. Collins is responsible for selling the program and how it could help Parker. You have to be able to close that deal. Maybe more info clarifies but if true I’m leaning toward a stumble.
Think it is probably just a bad personality fit. If you love and admire PJ, you might not like CGC. They are two very different people. He gets a GT degree and gets to start on a masters at Florida hopefully.

If the kid did not like pass blocking, has to be part of the reason. If any of the kids are not buying in, they need to move on. I'm all for the kids, but team first. CFB, the ultimate team sport IMO.

Parker Braun said:
I love the pressure behind your nose when you hit somebody. You don’t really feel that in anything else that you do. It’s like scratching an itch in your brain, kind of. You know, like when you have to sneeze and your sinuses build up.

That's an interesting quote for reference to his mindset. I can imagine him not buying into the new coaching staff given his ties to CPJ and how much they differ on approaches and philosophies; however, like many other news topics nowadays, it's best to wait for the full picture of this to become more clear before we surmise the whole story.

How about:

Thank you for your three years.

Congratulations on your degree. May it serve you well for the rest of your life. It will continue to pay you dividends.

Best wishes to your future family and to you Mr. Parker.

QED.

THWG. That is all.

So, anyone else think he might be transferring so he can play with his brother for ONE year in college?

Other than that this move makes no sense.

Now that we know he’s leaving I will say this...Braun had the weirdest ööööing media interviews. Dude definitely marches to the beat of his own drum.

This is not a rebuild. I’m not sure if that would make people feel better or not if they continue to say that

How do you not consider this a rebuild? The offense couldn’t be more different year over year, and we simply do not have the WR/TE that the new offense will require. And our OL makeup is completely different. If Parker Braun can see it, why can’t you?

I don’t think it’s a rebuild. Retool yes, but we shouldn’t be any worse then what we’ve been in recent years. I think some kids might surprise us. I bet most have played in something similar to what we’ll do going forward vs what PJ did.
