Figured I'd make a thread to keep all the GT/Super Bowl related posts. As much as I hate the Patriots, this is pretty cool. Don't know if it was paid for or in a contract to be done or if it's just us showing hospitality. I just hope they have a huge pic of Shaq somewhere on one of those wraps.

I ain’t even mad. I love how dominant New England has been. Their come back against us two years ago was more on our coaching staff than anything. I hope they leave some of their dominance behind for our guys.

Do we make any money by letting the Patriots use our facilities?

Better yet, any recruits see this in person? I'm sure we are getting paid and the locker rooms are probably off limits this week, but hopefully some of this stuff was seen by recruits and perhaps will be afterward.
Any chance we have visitors this Superbowl weekend? The Pats should be out by Saturday. Maybe give recruits a look at the locker room

Youd have to assume so. But I’d think the publicity pays off more. There will inevitably be GT logos in a bunch of practice shots this week. GT mentions on air with reporters describing where they are. Collins is getting facetime around the city for Super Bowl events.

I'd be willing to bet we are compensated for it, but I don't know of anywhere else locally that would be able to provide the facilities they likely requested anyway.

All star is a snack for him.

160 lb guy I rowed with ate an all star and a triple hash browns all the way after practice one day. Most impressive display of eating I've ever witnessed.

Shaq even on board and getting a "Juice" in there:

CGC is just a natural. He really does seem genuine. I think he could sell oceanfront property in Arizona.
I could watch CGC dismiss Demetra from that interview 100 times and it wouldn’t get old. Didn’t even say, ”Thanks for holding my mic”.

Awesome.

The NFL pays GT pretty well I am told. I assume that means $100,000 or so but I'm just guessing what pretty well is.

I mean holy öööö, Shaq Mason is probably the most impactful player I’ve ever watched at Tech since I became a Tech fan in 2002. I love Calvin Johnson but Shaq Mason willed the team to victory in Athens in 2014. I love Shaq Mason.

I like Andy, but that was pretty funny. Stepped right in and moved him out of the way.

I got all the food coach eats in his Waffle House video a few weeks back... cheesesteak omelette, pecan waffle, 3 scrambled eggs with cheese, hash brown smothered and covered, wheat toast, bacon, grits, half & half sweet tea, and a coke with cherry syrup in a to-go cup.... had to nap the whole afternoon and didn't eat until dinner the next day. It inspired me to go OMAD. Lost 12 pounds so far. Down from 187 to 175.

The Patriots and NFL certainly don’t pay anything for it. Full use of practice facilities is one of the things the NFL requires super bowl host cities to provide at no cost.

Now whether the Host Committee pays GT Athletics anything is a different question, but my guess is that we don’t get much if anything.
We probably got pretty much open access to all super bowl events so our coaches and media teams could run around any hype our connection.
