Duke, UVA, others need to swallow hard

You are correct, Sir! We can, and apparently will, compete with all the bigger programs for certain players. We don't need 15 five-star players to make a difference. I think Clempsen has 13 or 14 3-star signees this year. Two, three, or four better players in each class moves the needle. We need to be selective, we need to be laser focused (we are) and try to sign for need and for roster management. But today confirms that the new staff "gets it" with respect to recruiting. If they can coach, I am optimistic that they can get the players they want.
Who are you and what have you done with Yuke?

Not willing to concede a single damn one to anydamnbody.

We have got to break away from this mentality.

No, it won’t happen overnight and nobody wins every battle, but am sick and freaking tired of the dumbing down that has been going on all too long as regards GT football.

Believe and give more $ (and I have no doubt everyone here does now)

Coach BK says they're going to break us of this losers mentality, he did not use the word loser, I substituted that because it is shorter than the way he said it. It may take a few recruiting classes to get there, but I'm becoming a believer we will get there. Our folks gotta believe!!! Gonna be fun to watch over the next few years, FB has now become year 'round for Jacket fans. This is a whole new deal for us, I truly believe that and have for a while, and let's not forget to give TS the credit for the plan and setting it all up and coach GOL for helping put it together, not exactly sure the details of the GOL story in this, but don't need to be. I have a feeling there may be some others(silents) in all of this also, so thanks to them too. Exciting times on the "flats". We're headed to "big boy FB".

If you could read, I guess you would not be GT flunkout.

We have to PASS those schools, beat them, be better than, rise above, GT>Duke, GT>UVA, good, yes, now you see. No?

Only then can GT >= fSU, can then GT>=Clemson, can then GT win ACC.
FSU is giving Tech a lot of help with Radio and his crew running the show

With the FSU and the U turmoil going on, Clemson should be our goal. We are close to being number 2 in the ACC right now.

Miami just fired their recruiting staff two days after signing day. Diaz is a douchebag. Miami will continue to sink.

Well, UVA is already a champ at swallowing hard, but what I'm getting at is something else.

It's about to get a lot harder for these schools (and other similar competition) to come into the state of GA and take top talent away from us. These schools have benefited greatly from successful recruiting forays into the ATL. This year, most of our top competition in the Coastal is pulling a higher ranked recruiting class (exception is Pitt). Large numbers are coming out of the state of GA.

Our recruiting is not going to supplant UGA, Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, Florida, and other big schools, excepting the occasional flash of lightning. Long term, what we need to do to be successful is to consistently get the best haul of the rest of the talent, and get back up above the UNC's, VT's, UVA's, and Duke's.

Gone are the days of outsmarting (or fooling) them with scheme and smart/solid players. Winning the ACC is going to require across the board talent levels that we haven't seen since the later Gailey/early Johnson years.

Some way, some how, we have got to do some winning next year so that we don't undermine the growing brand strength with product issues. A 4-win season could make it hard to sell the vision and keep the hype pumping. If there's a risk for us, I think that is it. Flip side is that a 7+ win season out the gate could really get a big snowball rolling downhill.

Oh yea those great end of gaileys term teams, that won all those bowl games and acc titles. Let's follow those blueprints.
