Future Games at MBS

Didn’t we play at Clemson 2 years in a row & that has messed w our schedule ever since, some how?
Would adding a neutral site vs Clemson for 1 year unscrew that up?

All this damn crying. How about show up to the damn games. BDS is magical? Lol. It can be when you guys get your butts in the seats. A game in the Benz should never be a “neutral site gm” especially if we are talking about making the 404 ours and taking over Atlanta

What these guys said.

Y'all are out of touch if you don't think this plays well with our branding efforts. This will sell extremely well to HS recruits. With a seven game home schedule, it's a no brainer. I would prefer not Clemson unless it becomes permanent, but the benefits outweigh the concerns.
So you would prefer your season ticket package not include the Clemson game?

I was told we were playing ND at MBS about 2 weeks into the CGC tenure. My guess is he supports it for recruiting reasons but only occasionally. I would guess the ND game would be a few million in extra revenue. And a guaranteed TV at night in November. Assume ABC/ESPN is in on this also.

How do you make money in the dome? Wouldn’t you pay to rent it and then have to split the ticket money with the other team?
Yes and no. Rent it, yes. It is a home game so GT can charge what they want. Figure average cost of $125 * 70,000 is $8.75 million. CGC will sell this to recruits and the GTAA can use the money.

The same people who won't pay $200 For season tickets will pay $125 for 1 game?
Yes. Tennessee game was more than that. For ND, Tickets in 2006 were going for much more. Also, each MBS club seat holder will have the option to buy their seats but those will likely be $250/$300 each.

I would guess 300 level will be $70-$80 each like they were for TN.

I'm pragmatic. If we need the money and figures work out then we should do it.

Bobby Dodd was a Boddy Dudd for most home games last year. It's 2020 and isn't that far to walk, especially if we have a very decent 2019 season.

Dude, the people that don't like this idea are not the ones you have to worry about not showing up and putting butts in seats. Also it's not like we're moving the games that we have trouble getting people to.

I've seen Tech play in the Dome/MBS three times, none were a home field environment (although paper airplanes were fun). Totally fine with more Chick-fil-A kickoff games that don't come at the cost of our home games.

2006 vs Notre Dame was huge on campus and in BDS and you're going to take that away? Or another game that sells out BDS? It's a bush league move. If it really is all about some urgent need for revenue, hopefully this announcement opens some wallets.

Basically an away game. I hate this idea if true.

If they are trying to increase revenue SELL BEER.

2006 vs Notre Dame was one of the best sports atmosphere I've ever been a part of. A packed BDS under the lights is truly a great experience.

And yes, I realize we rarely, if ever, pack BDS anymore, but if we take away the few games that have the opportunity to (we play ND at home once in a blue moon, people will show up for it), we never will.

I agree. Play ND at BDS. Play Clemson occasionally at MBS. That isn't nearly as 'special' since it happens every 2 years.

Where else is Tech going to put 65,000 fans once CGC has them competing for a Natty every year? You'll gladly endure MBS when your BDS season ticket prices start going through the roof due to increased demand and limited supply.

Hate this whole idea. All home games should be at BDS. Anyat MBS should be neutral field, “kickoff” games and such.

Are we really this stupid?

The first thing that's going to come from it is UGA is going to demand all GT home games be played at the Benz, while all UGA home games are still played in Athens. Then FSU, Miami, ND, and Clemson will do the same. Then the only games in Bobby Dodd will be Wake Forest or whatever. Then we will forever become a whore to the football factories.

So.

Dumb.

Dumbest thing I have ever heard.
