Ideal scenario with the other two games is a nice southern home-neutral-home series with a large fanbase team that will see the dome as a true neutral stadium, because with our fanbase you know we'll be half at most anyway.

I'm not thrilled with this, but I'll wait and see how it actually affects us before getting riled up about it. We need to change how we're doing things. The same old same old isn't working in 2019 college football. Add onto that our need of additional funds... so let's see what happens here.

The ND games kind of piss me off. Like those ööööers need any more big stages to play on - I hate contributing to the perpetuation of the myth that Notre Dame is a big deal.

I guess the obvious candidate for 21 and 23 is VPI, right? Or maybe FSU or somebody, if they rotate back onto the schedule?

Top complaints from Tech fans.
-Too many noon games (assuming these are prime time)
-Too hot in August/September (not inside MBS)
-Food options / pricing at Bobby Dodd suck (MBS has great, affordable concessions)
-We need to recruit 4* and 5* guys (hey blue chipper, come to Tech for all the Tech stuff and we'll throw in 1 game per year on national TV against a big time opponent in one of the best stadiums in the country. May as well get used to it, you'll be playing in stadiums like this on Sundays).
-We need to win more (money begets winning begets money)
-We need to capitalize on our competitive advantages (1 mile away from campus, recruits will love the idea of playing at MBS - 5 year deal means 1 game per year for their entire time at Tech if they commit this year and next year)
-Home games have too many away fans as Tech fans don't show up (break even on this)
-We need more nationally televised games (here you go)
-Parking sucks (not .9 miles down the road)

Now, these games need to be included in the season ticket package like Tennessee was and all that, but seems like a good business decision to me.

We're all in on the next 2 recruiting classes, then the pump will be primed. No looking back.

Confirmed MBS games:

2020- Nov. 14 vs Notre Dame
2021- TBD
2022-Sept. 5 vs Clemson
2023- TBD
2024- Oct. 19 vs Notre Dame

AND again, they did confirm the TBD games WILL NOT be UGA
TBD games will be ACC games
Will still have 6 game home schedule at BDS
They didn't say that TBD will be ACC games, they said they won't be announced until the ACC finalizes their schedule. Now obviously that can be taken as we will likely be playing an ACC team but we have one OOC opening in 2021 and 2 in 2023.

If you say so. I'm pretty sure the exact question was "Will the TBD games be ACC games?" and the response was "Yes, the TBD games will be ACC games. Who exactly they will be depends on schedule..."

I've been wrong a time or two though.

EDIT: Just rewatched and he does confirm they will be ACC games.

Ugh. Both of our next ND games? That really sucks.

And those are later season games where the weather is perfect for outdoor football.

They will be included in the season ticket package. Per email, "All five games will be included in Georgia Tech's season-ticket packages and GT season-ticket members will have priority access to preferred seating options (including premium seating), as well as parking."

Some great attendance by the other teams in our home town. Thanks a lot to the AD and others in 'marketing'. Clempson orange in the MD will not be a home game in 2022. With ND twice there 2020 and 2024, who cares about the Fish. Sounds like A Blank is making some money on this deal.

This is horrible. This is the AA's attempt to generate more money from our big games by selling more tickets to visiting fans.

Essentially we're minimizing whatever modest home field advantage we had when we played ND and Clemson, so that we can get some more money.

The more I think about this, the more alarmed I am by it. CGC's first big mis-step, IMHO.

CGC has nothing to do with this. He will support it and sell it to recruits but he had 0% to do with this.

This. Massive bigcries and "get out of the way and drink more juice!" headed your way

This was in the works before CGC though.

The roof opens :dunno:
Lol

That is not even close to the same thing as playing in an outdoor stadium.

And I was just mentioning it as people were saying it would be nice to move some of those hundred degree scorchers indoors (which I agree with), but it turns out we're not doing that.
