I think it was after three weeks some Canadian (?) threw 250m at that thing. $$ laundering while the byline of the article alluded that it was needed to make payroll. After three weeks?

He gets to keep all of the helmets and footballs after the collapse. That has to be worth a bunch of money in Canada.

Yeah, how do you make that kind of investment clearly without any sort of due diligence. Feel bad for our guys and other players that were probably counting on that for their income for a few years.

It makes you wonder. The guy it seems knew what "due diligence" was to have that kinda' cash in the first place to throw to the wind.

He was betting on being able to work out a deal with the NFL to truly become their developmental league, ie have teams be able to send their new players there for reps.

That guy owns our hockey team. Not the most stable fellow.
Just learning about him thru this AAF deal but he seems like a head case. Made his money, not sure how legitimately, thru subprime auto lending. He strikes me as the Wolf of Wall Street type.

Watch some things come to the NFL (Especially Sky Judge and the in-picture ads to reduce game time).
It sucks to lose some offseason football, but this seemed inevitable, but lots of folded leagues in good terms with the NFL produce good ideas that the league later incorporates themselves.

It was dumb to try to undercut the XFL's relaunch anyway
Probably dumb for the XFL to relaunch and fold in a season or 2 as well. What are they going to different this time to get people to tune in/attend the equivalent of double AA baseball?
