Legends of the Flats Day thread

Do they not teach basic stuff like poetry in schools anymore?
I don’t know, not something seems to have held me back m. I suppose I’m one of the lucky ones who made it despite not paying attention in poetry class

A poet! The lad reckons himself a poet!

Money, get back, I'm all right Jack keep your hands off of my stack.

New car, caviar, four star daydream. I think I'll buy me a football team!

Rubbish!

According to this, in Georgia, poetry is covered in every grade from 4th through 12th. Where did you attend HS? Understanding poetic structure is what is taught. I don't remember a lot from my days in HS, but I at least have an idea as to what a haiku is.

I vividly remember learning about Haiku during a history class - guessing we were studying Japanese/Asian culture. The teacher was hot, so I paid attention in that class.

öööö this makes me feel really bad about my high honors in engineering at Georgia Tech and a competitive surgery subspeciality. I’ll give it all back now. Dude I don’t give a single F about poetry or poetry structure. Have I heard of a Haiku? Sure. Do I have any clue what a Haiku is? No. Did I feel compelled to look it up secondary to this thread? Still no. See unlike you, I am completely okay not thinking I know everything. It’s served me quite well to this point and an internet geriatric isn’t changing that.

Plus, your kids would rather have raw beets for snacks instead of ice cream because all the other children are fat and have diabeetus

But can you say all of that in iambic pentameter?

But at the end of the day, your hands smell like dick.

Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo,
Aureli pathice et cinaede Furi,
qui me ex versiculis meis putastis,
quod sunt molliculi, parum pudicum.
Nam castum esse decet pium poetam
ipsum, versiculos nihil necessest;
qui tum denique habent salem ac leporem,
si sunt molliculi ac parum pudici
et quod pruriat incitare possunt,
non dico pueris, sed his pilosis
qui duros nequeunt movere lumbos.
Vos, quod milia multa basiorum
legistis, male me marem putatis?
Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo.

This is why they call it the North Ave Trade School.
