2020 Recruiting

I know it’s early, but can we finally kill the calculus/academic excuses that most have been brainwashed with in regards to recruiting?

If we continue our trajectory, this will be a Top 25 class easily on relationships built in 6 months

I think we’re gonna have to get through a few cycles and show that guys are staying eligible before we close the book on that

These guys are not being blindly offered. They checking all the boxes in the classroom and on the field. Most have been conditioned to believe we don’t go after these guys bc they can’t get in. Now here we are 6 months in with the #21 ranked class, when some said they would just be ecstatic to be in the high 30s and saying the is couldn’t be done yr 1.

Going to have to agree here. Unless there have been changes I’ve seen too many good players ineligible or fail out. When there are good classes put together resulting in a team with quality depth then the conversation should be had.

You need to drink some juice and get F’ing hype

I also remember being told we couldn't possibly get a transfer from a factory school because APR and transfer credits. I am glad CGC is challenging our assumptions and hope it continues.

Transfers must not be an issue. The basketball team got Banks from Texas this past season and we have a USC transfer coming in for next season.

6 months? You think these coaches didn’t recruit the same kids to their former schools?

Marco didn’t. Tashard probably didn’t either. Old Temple coaches probably didn’t either.

Here's a good topic - any thoughts as to the size and makeup of this class?

My complete guess:
QB - 1
RB - 2
TE - 1
OL - 4
WR - 3
DL - 4
LB - 3
ATH - 2
CB - 2 (maybe go to 3 if Alabama guy flips?)
total 22
rest go to transfer market like we've already seen some of??

Seems like CCG is all about class balance across positions. Maybe they all are, but CPJ seemed to struggle to achieve that. I wonder if he'll have a similar philosophy as CPJ to red-shirt as much of the class as possible.

Post of the Year.

Also, I have long held the belief that kids dont want to come to Tech because of academics or they can't stay in. Not sure why. I was a student when TC, Calvin, Roman Reigns, Philip Wheeler, etc were at Tech.

It will be a top 20 class.
Amazing what a coaching change to a guy that loves recruiting can do, even at Georgia Tech.

I don't think you are too far off. I think we try to get 2 TE hoping one can play immediately and the other can redshirt. I would also say only 1 RB as we currently have around 40 on scholie and we signed 3 last year. Add 1 S.

I would say 4 DBs. Need a Safety in the class for sure.
