lol... Tyler van Dyke was an uncommitted 3* earlier this week with a slew of offers, and a 4* after committing to Miami. 247's ratings are a joke, perpetually tweaked to create buzz for paying subscribers.

You know how this works right? 247 composite ratings actually are a meta rating combining their own ratings with other ratings of major services. An offer from a high-profile team (which Miami is recruiting wise, currently in the top 10), makes a difference. But it might have been a reranking by another service that bumped him.

If you were recruiting me, and I told you I have offers from Google and Facebook, and you're comparing me to Bobby who has an offer from McDumass Engineering Corp out of McRae, GA, who has more value?

Watch the first pass on the junior highlights. Yeah, that's 60 yds in the air. 247 may be playing the Miami bump game, but this kid is the real deal. Be afraid of him going to Duh U the next 4 years. Everybody says Gleason is going to be a stud for us, so I'm happy with him as a commit. But I was hoping we'd get Van Dyke.

Would have been thrilled to get him, but would be even more thrilled if we could flip Bailey.

according to Rivals we are 30th in offers out.
Though remember these offers are self-reported by hopeful players with every reason to read anything ambiguous as an offer, and the schools are prevented by rule from commenting on self-reported offers that aren’t really real.

Still I can’t imagine that’s affects more than 5% of the numbers, if that.

While I'm sure recruits get bumps based on to which teams they commit, this isn't an example of that. Van Dyke's 247 and Rivals Grades weren't changed, they are the same as they always were.

Almost at the exact moment that Van Dyke committed, ESPN released their 2020 Spring Recruit Rankings. 247 then began updating their Composite Rankings with this new input. Van Dyke commits to Miami, and because ESPN thinks he's one of the top recruits in the country, his Composite grade went up significantly.

It was just a random coincidence that he committed at the same time that ESPN happened to release the ranking of him.

At the end of the day, I am more interested in a recruit’s offer list than his ranking. There are definitely some games being played with stars based on where a recruit commits. We even had several recruits under CPJ upgraded to 3 stars when they committed to GT who had a pitiful offer list. I assume that if several high quality programs have offered our recruits then they are likely a high quality player.

If her eligibility is used up, any of her offspring get an offer the day they're born. QB, Right Field, or Track Team? That's a T-shirt she is throwing. Kelsey Plum.

She gives whole new meaning to the phrase "throws like a girl." Impressive.

Yet another GIF that ends too soon, though. Did she hit the 4 year old she was aiming for? Fall short of the second deck? Land in a beer? Internet minds want to know.
Hall needs to offer any of her male offspring scholarships now.

Good hip-shoulder separation. I'm going starting LHP for just about any of several hundred teams.

Has anybody noticed Clemson recruiting is unreal this year? They've pulled away from everybody, including bama. They have three number one overall players at their positions. They even have the heir apparent to Trevor Lawrence. Clemson has turned into Orange Alabama, geeze.

Good footwork. Holds the hips back and uncorks. Throws the chest out before the arm. Uncoils with a goddamn vengeance. If she were male, this is a 95MPH fastball.
