No problem with this. I think the hype is great & the juice & the energy is exactly what I want for an off-season. If we’re gonna get whomped during the season, at least give us a fun offseason to enjoy. I think the defense will be no better / no worse then last year. Unless we can run the ball with some undersized OL, it’s gonna be tough to keep drives going as our passing game is unproven so far. I think we’re a 3-5 win team this year, so I’ll take the spring hype & fun right now.
 
I think our OL can work as long as we learn to pass block a little better. I don’t listen to much of what the OC says as to our run pass balance, I think it will be run only to set up the pass or to grind down time in a sure win. If you remember when CPJ was hired they were putting out videos about how we were going to be able to pass.

I just don’t know if we can stop the run.

Many of us have preached for years that we ought to be better than we have been. But you are exactly right, the management of our athletics, especially football, has been unusually bad. Poor coaching selections, and the aftermath of poor hires have kept us struggling. Even with the leftover recruits from Georgia and the other factories in our neighborhood, we should have been able to compete. The current plan is sound. But the Hill is lurking in the shadows and could put a real damper on our energized recruiting. I hope not. This fall is probably going to be a struggle, but 2020 could be a breakout year for our program.

Yeah, the great University of Hawaii run and shoot lie.
 
TRUE except that Notre Dame and Stanford have a greater variety of majors. Our comparable schools when it comes to academics are MIT and Cal Tech and last time I checked they were not in a Power Five Football Conference. BUT even after saying that, I do believe we can be the best in both athletics and academics with the right leadership.
 
Yeah, but Notre Dame is in ööööing Indiana.

Stanford is west coast and barely recruits players we are after.

Our comparative is Cal Berkeley or Purdue
