I worked for them for a bit (before the 247 switchover). He means well but his defending absolutely everything GT does and snarky responses to posters' benign questions really got under my skin at times. I've watched the participation and quality of that board really decline since the 247 switchover. I used to go there more than any other board and I rarely visit anymore.

The problem with these guys is that while they appear to be really knowledgeable fans who turned that fandom into a business, they are not. They are not Tech fans (at least not as a primary function...they may become a fan through being close to the program); they are reporters of a sort. Thus their main interest is in getting info, selling info, and defending their stories. Sometimes that gets in the way of what we as fans want.
