2020 Recruiting

How do transfers work when looking back on past recruiting classes? Do they get added in with their class, or not factored in?

There's only one valid measure of recruiting in college football.

Two, actually.

Wins. Losses.

You would make an OK lawyer (guilty/not guilty) but an awful doctor.

"There is only one valid measure of health. Alive, or dead."

Wins and losses may be the only valid measure of a sports team (not really, but for a fan perhaps), and may be the best measure of recruiting, but they are not the only measure.

Did you ever imagine a day where not one but several highly regarded players would either decommit or transfer from very highly regarded programs to come to Tech? I did not.

When we were able to hire a coach from bama, and a specialist (?) From auburn that gave me hopes that the rest of the program parts would be lifted up with them.

HillNerds - mind your place and do your job without trying to tear down other parts of the Institute. You have been put on notice.

Ar there any inside Lb's in the transfer portal? They can be from the Southern conference - just bring them in. We need them.

While you sound like a doctor whose patient is dying but he argues, cuz the chart says his numbers are good.

If you recruit well enough to win all of your games, then who cares what the rankings say?
You can only overcome a talent gap until it gets too big, then there is nothing you can do. The problem with CPJ was that the gap was growing bigger every year, even with teams that have traditionally been beneath us (Duke, NCSU, etc). This was also reflected in his W-L record trending downward over his decade here. 2014 was great but it was a relative maxima on a clearly downward slope and each recruiting class saw us more and more compete for athletes with the Old Dominions and Coastal Carolinas of the world rather than Auburn, etc.

Not taking exception, BUT. . . . I think you will see a different side of some of those recruits that we won from Old Dominion and Coastal Carolina this fall. I believe it will be noticeable the difference better coaching, better leadership and better motivation can have on young men. And we are adding a handful of better supporting players to the mix. The overall team performance should be shockingly improved.

BiGTime official visit weekend coming up:

Several current commits will be on campus, including Miles Brooks, Tucker Gleason and Jordan Williams.

We will also have 3 OL recruits visiting, including Richie Leonard, Tate Johnson and newly minted 4-star Javion Cohen. 4-star WR Bryce Gowdy will be here too.
