Nobody is working 50 hours a week and carrying a full load at GT. If someone pulls off a job where they get paid to sit around and study, maybe, but nobody is working 50 hours a week and passing.

And certainly not "a bunch of people". Thats ridiculous.
I worked 25-30 hours per week while I was at Tech, taking MARTA up to the perimeter, and I graduated in 4 years. My grades probably would have been better if I hadn't.

When Artis Gilmore was at Jacksonville he reportedly had a summer job thru a booster that paid $$$$ mucho dinero for not showing up.
Supposedly, William Perry was paid a lot of money to turn the sprinklers on and off at Clemson's stadium.

It is adorable when you think you worked so much harder than anyone at any other school.
I know for a fact, ööööhead. How many different universities did you take classes at? I matriculated at 4 and took the weedout classes at three of those. Not comparable whatsoever.

I guess I am one of those "bunch" of people. I worked 50 hours a week for 2 years while taking a full load at Tech. I was M-Train which offered a ton of Tuesday Thursday classes. I worked 8:30 - 4:30 at BOA then 5/5:30 across the street at Teds Montana Grill to about 10pm, every Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Saturday. I had classes 8:30 to 5:30 Tuesday/Thursday and lab on Thursday. It paid the rent and tuition.

I also worked about 20 hours a week for about a year and a half in the middle, plus full time in the summers. Still graduated in IE with honors in 4 years back when it took 210 quarter hours (today equivalent of 140 semester hours instead of 120 or so needed now). You just do what you have to. I knew other guys working about 30 hours so I wasn't anything special. Parents and loans didn't cover everything, and some didn't have them at all. I was fortunate to have family help.

One University, douchebag. I also worked a full time job because I had to. Of course, I'm not the super overachieving government worker driving the sweet SC430 and living in the Beverly Hills of Georgia known as John's Creek. apparently, you are one of the underachieving GT grads

Seeing a trend in who worked. Not seeing any EE, ChemE, ME. Interesting.

Why do you have to make it personal? I personally feel very successful. I think you feel very successful. But I'm not gonna blow smoke up your ass and pretend SPSU students work in the same league as we did. They are radically different universities.

GT is one of the top universities in the world. We rank on many international lists of top universities. There is a reason we do and UGA or GSU or SPSU doesnt.

CGC knows this and is using it as a selling point because it should be.

I drank 20-30 hours a week, studied 5 hours, went to less than 50% of classes. Co-op paid off loans, rent, and booze/food, had a scholly for tuition and books. I ended up starting a RothIRA while in college. Graduated with high honors, Mechanical Engineering. Stop whining.
