Call me crazy but I am way more optimistic than the average person about this transition year than most. I dont think 6-6 is out of the question. Only Clemson and UGA (yuck) are unwinnable games on our schedule. The Citadel is the only gimme game, though. That leaves us 9 games to go 5-4 or better. Hard this year but doable. The realist in me says we go 3-6 in those 9 games for a 4-8 year but Collins is a solid DC so I think we will at least be competitive in most of those games. If a few breaks go our way in a couple games, 3-6 turns into 5-4 and a bowl game. Not impossible!
If we don't beat Temple, I'll be on the fire collins train

4-8 in the acc coastal would be a disaster for us. The defense should be markedly better. Offense should be spotty, but 100% of our guys have played in shotgun formations. All of our QBs ran shotgun spreads. Several played in hs playoff games running it.

Last year we underperformed. We should expect that as a baseline considering the staff. Had we gone air raid or west coast then we would be in trouble. Prostyle maybe a 1-2 game dropoff.

ST should be the best in a long time. The ST playcalls were garbage the last two years. No way we should have kept kicking like we did to usf after the first near runback. Following that with two actual returns was retarded.

You're being overly optimistic about hoping for 6-6? Not sure what that makes me. I think we'll be a solid Coastal contender and finish closer to 8-4. We're gonna drown 'em in juice.

Well 6-6 seems like a reasonable high expectation. You are saying we can go 7-2 in our games not involving citadel, clemson and uga. Those games include two tough OOC opponents in USF and Temple. You think we can go 5-2 or better in our ACC slate outside of Clemson? Do you have any more justification than "juice"?

Our players and coaches are better than their players and coaches?

Duke has no QB and Cutcliffe is declining.
UNC has all new coaching with an old retread that could not win at Texas.
USF, Temple, and Citadel don't have the coaching or talent or juice.
VT has no idea what a football is right now.
Miami is going to go all thug U with their coach change and after FL stomps they ass, they will be off the rails all season.
Pitt is never easy for some reason, but we wont lose Homecomong with all the juice we have.
Virginia and NC State will be difficult grind them out games, toss ups.
Clemson and UG are the only up hill battles.
10 wins is doable, 8 is guaranteed.

Book Charlotte and ACC coach of the year now.

Collins is a heck of a recruiter. Temple has better talent. A "W" would be an upset.
You're an idiot. Temple is 25-60+ spots lower in the team rankings for recruiting than Tech the past 3 recruiting cycles, and the cycle before that the only reason they were above us is because they took 25 recruits to our 18, while on average their recruits were worse.

That's simply not true--the eye test nor recruiting rankings back up this nonsense (take your pick). GT will be favored in that game.

Not to get argumentative here but perhaps the recruiting rankings aren't all they are cracked up to be. Results matter and last season Temple was better than us #40 to #48...

Temple had 3 players drafted this year to our zero. The year before they had 2 to our zero. The year before that 3 to our 1 (Butker). You have to go back to 2015 for us to have had more NFL draftees than Temple.

By several metrics they have had better talent than us the past several years.

Mack Brown had about as much to do with that national title as Vince Dooley had to do with UGA's. Vince Young basically won it by himself.
A big assist goes to Pete Carroll, who went away from Lendell White the last time USC had the ball and left too much time on the clock for VY.

Scoring too fast... CPJ's downfall. Pretty ironic considering everyone thought we were a death march program.
