Wilt Chamberlain. He once scored 100 points on the court in a game, and legend has it many more scores off the court. I suppose that he was shooting and scoring all the time.

John Smoltz. Could have made it as professional golfer.
A scratch golfer might as well have a chasm between him and making the PGA tour. Romo is a scratch golfer (and better than smoltz based upon head to head in the celebrity series) but gets schooled when he plays any tour event. The tour is on a level that is hard to fathom.

If you consider college sports, how about Clint Castleberry? Surprised no mention of him yet.

Yep. Tour golfers are -2 to -4 hcps. But those handicaps are playing courses that basically aren't open to the public because they're so difficult it would make for 5.5 hour rounds.
Championships at Hawks Ridge does not a PGA tour player make.

Chuck Conners - Some say first player to break a glass backboard in NBA. I understand pretty good with a rifle and a broken sword, too.
GT's Tom Hammonds if you consider Motor Sports to be sports

Ted Williams gets a nod.
Williams was named to the International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame in 2000. "Williams, Jim Brown, Cumberland Posey, and Cal Hubbard are the only athletes to be inducted into the Halls of Fame of more than one professional sport."

Didn’t he claim to have tagged something like 10,000 women?
