Bud Foster out after 2019

He's out of juice, and we're going to get one more big piece of him before he goes.

That's a mistake. VT won't do better.

It’s gonna be a weird time for turkey nation going forward. They hit a dream run for nearly a decade where Beamer/Foster were able to put up a fence around the 757 while it was pumping out 5* guys like Vick, Vick, Tyrod, Wilson, Williams while the Big East wasn’t putting up a fight and then transition to the ACC while FSU, Clemson, and Tech weren’t great.

They’ve now lost their stranglehold on 757 recruiting, lost their HC/DC combo who put them on the map, lost their perceived home-field advantage as they struggle to sell tickets, burnt their bridge with Torrian Gray who would be the logical choice to replace Foster, and are about to realize that there’s no real reason for their program to be any good without 5* DT QBs taking snaps.

That's an interesting way of saying "Turn back into the öööö school they've always been."

Fuente is in over his head. I think they go bowling this year but that’s it. They have not been clicking since Beamer left and Foster has lost his edge.

They have 7 home games, three of which are ODU, Furman, and Rhode Island, and have BC/WF from the Atlantic. Probably the easiest P5 schedule in the country. They could start 6-1 and not be ranked.

Been there. Done that.

Foster still has some juice. But his style of defense doesn’t mesh with Feunte’s offense. His defense needs time to rest because vt isn’t blessed with depth or big DL. The DL is light and fast, so they need to keep the number of snaps down.

The ACC is about to realize all VPI brings to the table over the long haul is the Blacksburg TV* market.

* Longwave radio where TV not available**

** Blacksburg

From a source with inside ($$$$$$$$) info into VippySue, this is Fuentes' year to either produce or be gone. The unwashed masses in Blacksburg have not been pleased with the lack of production on either side of the ball, even though they've had some key DBs leave early for the NFL a coupla years ago & last year was their version of GT2015 in terms of injuries, walk-ons having to play, inexperience, et al.

By the time we play them in mid-November, the Gobblers may be playing for Fu's job.

Farewell, VPI.

In reality, they've over-performed for so long. They're not going to be a good program going forward.

Combine this news with what I'm hearing that their recruiting this year is tanking and VPI could sink to the depth of the pre-Beamer years.

In coaching terms, it's 42-0, Bud got cut down at the knees, and he's faking an injury to get off the field.
