I wonder how much money CGC is raking under the table from the WH guys.
Pretty sure CGC isn't getting anything personally from them. However, the program has benefited greatly because they have granted our coaches the use of their corporate planes and jets multiple times for recruiting trips.
Coach Collins has stated more than once that having access to private planes has made it possible for coaches to visit 4 or 5 targeted recruits in a day whereas they maximum flying commercial would be one or potentially two.

One of the first things I learned when I was coaching was that better players make better coaches. Pretty hard to argue that he's bringing in a different (higher) caliber of player. So he's already checked one of the first boxes for "can he coach?"
I read an article a while back about when Alabama was looking at hiring Saban and he basically said “I am not the best coach out there, but no one will out recruit me”.

Steve Shapiro is a fat sack of öööö. He knows *nothing* about sports. He's just another fat failed business owner who pays his bills by talking öööö on the radio, frequently "deep diving" into topics he knows nothing about. CPJ clearly dickslapped him early on because Steve's feelings are hurt and he can't help but be totally nasty anytime CPJ's name comes up. He goes out of his way to trash CPJ still. Steve tries to be the cool kid at the table by saying "bro" as often as possible and talking about gambling. And his obesity. [I stopped listening to that morning show a few months ago after Steve's unnecessary rant about CPJ].

So, it seems like quite a few are against the positive coverage from this get together.

Pissed if they do interview him, pissed if they don’t.

When we beat ugag (as we should) we get great coverage. When we won the Orange Bowl we got great coverage.

When we lost 4 of 5 to puke we got the coverage we deserved.

When we lost to ut with almost 700 yds of O we got the coverage we deserved. Problem is - too many thought just getting that amount of O was winning the game.

Things are different now and CGC can get along with any of the media, and regardless of current status of the team at that point, will get positive pub for GT. Not unlike Cremins.

Not true. But every time Steve Shapiro makes a positive comment about CGC, it’s followed by an unnecessary “he’s such a breath of fresh air compared to CPJ” then he rants about Paul’s personality, his recruiting, his high school offense. So it’s positive with an asterisk. And it’s not productive. öööö Steve Shapiro and his pannus.

I have no problem with CGC getting the media to focus on Tech. But let’s be real, the Atlanta media has consistently shat on Georgia Tech way before Paul Johnson was here. Especially Steak Shapiro. So I can appreciate CGC’s marketing, and at the same time say a nice FU to Steak and the boys. Screw them.

The true test is actually playing some games to give them something of substance to talk about and see if it goes into actual analysis or more of that BS. For every other local team, they discuss what's actually happening on and off the field even when they are losing. They've never really done that with Tech. There's never been anything worth listening to, even if it's bad analysis.

Not sure if people realize but clicking on that image takes you to a video of the interview.
Thanks for pointing that out. I just assumed everyone knew how to use Twitter and that they would then realize they could listen/watch the entire interview.

Steak is about as unbiased as Rachael Maddow and Hannity.
