Many Tech fans wore white buttons with yellow lettering that simply said, "I like Tech." Back then, the logo of choice was the "Block T." I always preferred this to the "GT" logo. We are not an offshoot little brother to UGA. We are "Tech."

Even our basketball uniforms just said "TECH," not "Georgia Tech." People around the country and in many parts of the world know that "TECH" means Georgia Tech.

I wish we could get back to that.

But, for now I want to salute Coach Collins. I'm going to get a white button with yellow lettering that says, "I like Geoff," with a block T in the background.

It will take time, but I'm all in on him and his staff, and I believe they will get us where we want to be, even if it takes five years.

It took about five years to beat Germany and Japan in WWII. And, I can wait that long and suffer some defeats along the way to win this war, too.

In the immortal words of Tech's most treasured voice, the one and only Al Ciraldo, "Hello, football fans. It's time for another season on the flats. Toe meets leather, right after this message. You're listening to the WGST Georgia Tech Radio Network."

Let's go, Jackets. We're behind you. To Hell With Georgia!

I'll never forget my Dad taking me to my first TECH game in 1978 versus the Florida Gators, a 17-13 Yellow Jacket win.
Pepper Rodgers and Tech were in the midst of a seven game win streak, and coming off a win over Auburn.

As a teenager, I remember my Dad listening to all the Tech games on the radio with Al Ciraldo and Kim King, the "young left-hander". He must have taken extra interest in Tech football at the time due to the win streak, which I was totally oblivious to at that young age, and wanted to expose me to it. We started going to Tech games regularly in 1981, and bought season tickets in 1982, and every year since. Dad went to Tech in the mid 1940's under the NROTC program, so that's how I was raised a Yellow Jacket.

I was a student at that Florida game.

I wrote something similar about "Tech" 10 or 15 years ago. We should have marketed "TECH" and kept it and refused VPI entry unless they dropped it. Now in the midatlantic, people think of VPI when someone says "TECH".

Well, we can thank Dodd for that by getting us out of the sec.

No, we can thank Coach Dodd for a 1952 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, beating UGAG 8 STRAIGHT YEARS, 2 Orange bowl wins, 3 Sugar Bowl wins, a Cotton bowl win, etc., etc...

GO JACKETS!
Yeah, absolutely in the 50s. Unparalleled in our history.

Then the 60s, and instead of building on that .......

Not to mention 10 wins in a row over Auburn, 31 All Americans, about 90 All SEC players, etc, etc.
