What caused Adams to die? I haven't seen it reported anywhere.

I just saw an article from late July saying a toxicology test indicated no foul play, and the GBI would not investigate any further.

Has it been ruled out that football was associated with his death? I know football and training for football can cause health problems.

We don't know much, but I'm pretty sure we can rule out football. If you read the AJC article, I think you have all the public information.

If it was football, we likey would have heard. We may never know. No foul play means it is the family's business.

Woh no. Aneurysm is what i heard. But yes he fell and starting foaming at mouth after it hit.
That seems more likely. I was always under the impression that somehow that trauma of the fall was the first injury. An aneurysm causing the fall makes sense. How awful.

Couldn't an aneurysm be caused by football training/conditioning?

With CTE, bad things happen off the football field but it can still be attributed to football.

When someone young suddenly dies from a medical problem, you ask what was different about them. An obvious difference with Adams is he was an extreme athlete.

I guess we're not going to worry until other players die from sudden aneurysms?

Note: The "aneurysm" cause of death is hearsay as far as I know.

At the level of physical stress that playing elite level sports causes, I would suppose if you have an achilles heel or ticking time bomb, it's just more likely to be exposed. It would take a long term study to really get better information, I'm afraid. Hopefully there are active researchers probing these questions.

When I was a youth athletic association basketball director, one of my coaches literally dropped dead of an aneurysm just before coaching a game. This is something that happens in life, and there's no way anyone's particular activities can be attributed to it.

There's no real value here in discussing this.
