Graham is our quarterback

I think gauging our QBs at this time isn’t where we need to be. There are doubts in protection and there are doubts in wr getting open. Like it or not I feel our coaches got it right tonight.

Lucas deserves a shot along with playing Graham against someone's #1 defense before deciding for sure but I know one thing, Oliver IS NOT a D1 QB! He can't throw. He couldn't throw last year. Nothing has changed. It's a joke having him out there throwing the ball. Running QB sweeps non stop out of the shotgun is retarded when they have 9 in the box. If we were going to do that crap they should've just kept Paul and left Oliver under center running triple option. The next time he sees the field it better be at WR or kick returner.

Paul retired. For good reason.

I think it may be coach just knows Lucas isn't mobile enough to work behind our porous OL
We like to say things about giving our coach a few years. But actually doing it hurts our heart. The rest of our games will be better.

he was #2 when he got injured.

Oliver made some big plays with his legs. Can't shiite on him completely, but the fact that he can only throw scud missiles that accidentally hit the target makes his upside pretty limited. He might move the team the best right now with his athletic ability but you at least need to be able to complete half your passes in a standard offense so he will hurt our transition in the long term, IMO.
I say play Graham from here on out.

For the short time he played, Graham looked more poised and delivered some good passes, but it was garbage time against Clemson's bench warmers. You could easily point to a handful of plays that made TO look good, too, but most of his passes were terrible. I suspect the announcers were biting their tongues to keep from laughing at his pass attempts. I think we'll see more sharing of playing time for the QBs in the next 2 games, and a best starter will emerge, but last night Graham showed he can both play and handle the big stage.

I'm not ready to anoint Graham the starter, but there's a pretty ironclad logic to moving in that direction. If he is the QB with the highest ceiling and this is a rebuilding season, why not take your lumps with the guy? That said, with Lucas getting the extra year of eligibility, it'd be foolish not to evaluate what you've got with him, too, especially given he's supposedly the most polished passer at the moment.

Either way, Oliver needs to be converted to the role he should've had all along: gadget guy. If you've got packages like wildcat or line him up at back or in the slot so you get the ball in his hands 4-5 times a game, cool. But to make him your starting QB just puts the team at a complete disadvantage by making it so incredibly one dimensional.

Gadget guy is my take too. There’s value in that.

Not so fast

Play the QB that can Huck it around the yard 40 times a game

Forget the slow transition, rip the Band Aid off show upcoming Recruit who we WANT TO BE and be done with it

This slow transition on Off does nothing but damage GTFB in the eyes of Off Recruits, running that many QB keepers on a Natl stage makes it seem as if we aren't ready to let go of our recent past

Going down in a blaze of glory slinging it all over the yard shows Recruits that we are ready to be a different GT FB program

Losing in a hybrid-CPJ fashion was the worst of all scenarios, if we were gonna lose, we shoulda lost in a different way

Graham had the look of a QB. He sat back in the pocket, didn’t have happy feet, was decisive and slung it around fairly well. My opinion is that we start with a guy who does all of that and build from there. Graham has to be the guy next week...

I agree with the post above. Running 40 keepers and seeming reluctant to throw the ball sets back the narrative we have been pushing. Have to demonstrate pro style concepts and be willing to throw the ball...even if we throw some picks along the way, etc.

Watching on tv for the few plays where we did drop back, it is hard to see routes developing and if guys are getting open, so I can’t say anything about getting open.

F*** yes, this! If we're going to suck anyway, might as well practice what we want to do rather try to suck the least.

NewsFlash- Paul quit

That game is the worst scenario they will face all season.
