Our offense is unimaginative

But maybe winning means something too?? Just curious if you're aware that is the goal
What's your point? The fact that we won doesn't change the fact that our offense was really bad.

Winning means everything, and we won't do much more of it if our offense plays like this. Our defense was awesome today, but our offense was not.

I think it's highly imaginative. We showed a lot of looks and even swung Tobias out wide. The problem is we're too predictable because our best athlete at QB can't hit a receiver in stride, and our OL is making an enormous adjustment and keeps losing guards to transfer or injury.

My only real complaint with it so far is utterly boneheaded play calls at critical junctures, like running Tobias on 3rd and 12 with 2:10 on the clock. It would have bled only 10 seconds and saved USF a timeout. Air that ****er out. Luckily we got the game-ending penalty, but the call was atrociously stupid. That's one area where CPJ was always lights-out. He was an elite game and clock manager.

Either way, once we get the kinks worked out I think this O will be a lot of fun to watch, and that's what I was hoping for. I'm glad the option is still a big part of what we do.

Winning is great and obviously is the number one priority. It didn’t make the offense any less frustrating today though. And before anyone jumps on me, I understand it’s a work in progress and don't expect a perfectly executed system yet. There were some really good plays today, just have to start getting better at stringing them together and sustaining drives. Obviously we’re not exactly where we want to be personnel wise, but we absolutely have the capacity to be better on offense than we were today with the players that are out there.

Again, all that said, I’m thrilled to have the win and would rather win with a stuttering offense than put up a ton of points/yards and lose.

no we really don't, at least not yet at QB and OL. Perhaps they'll be coached up but right now, all 3 QBs are bad fits for this scheme. no, that's not their fault and no, I'm not ööööting on 'em.

We don’t have the players to be where we eventually want to be, but we definitely have the players to play better than what we saw today. Just going to take some more time and reps (for both the players and and play callers).

Again, I’ll take the win any day though.

Anybody know why Brenton King is out there and not the great Wesley Wells?
I was wondering the same thing, but I believe Wesley Wells wasn't dressed. Pretty sure I saw him on the sidelines without pads on. So maybe there's some kind of injury or something? Not sure.

Point is pretty clear.. we won.. better than last year no?

On the last play 3&12 and we ran: they had no TOs so the clock would have been under 1:30 when USF got the ball back.

Collins is going to play to win games with Defense and ST; he isn’t going to do it with Offense like Johnson did. It will be an adjustment for the fans.

This thread is about the offense, so I was talking about the offense. The offense looked much, much worse than last year.
No question man. 0 points in the second half against USF is a joke! Didn't get much of anything going downfield.
