Lots of empty seats

I was responsible for 6 being there.

Lots of people left at half time including most students. We were cooling down under the West stands watching people stream out.

Upper West concourse, 2nd quarter. Long string of nerds sitting down with their faces fully engaged with their phones. Maybe they were watching on the ESPN app?

Why is the concession stand closed?

Yeah, a lot of people were doing the same thing in the u-east. Some looked miserable actually.

That’s a good question. Maybe based on the number of tickets sold in upper west? That’s in the northernmost part. And there are two other windows open, there and then further down to the right. Obviously there’s no line...

I was actually pleasantly surprised at how many students were there, and how full the lower east was. (I sit in the west and can never tell how full the west is.) But it is true that a lot of people left early, even though it was a very competitive game. It was just really hot!

Night games would be a big help for Tech attendance issues.
I doubt that. People would be complaining about having to compete with all the busy Sat evening activities, the night traffic in Midtown, etc. It wouldn't be as hot, but it would create other problems. That works for a really big game, but not for USF and the Citadel.

From the North, the lower West looked very full to me.

The people that care enough to spend a lot on tix are typically also the people that care enough to actually come to 'marginal' games.

What about the “club section” seats. They cost the big bucks but always empty.

Those peeps are in the lounge enjoying alcohol and A/C on a day like today.
Yeah, I think they're at the game, just in the A/C. I was actually impressed how many of them were in their seats most of the game.

Was that woman about to sacrifice that child to Sun God to lessen his fury and stop baking the Tech faithful?

I was really unimpressed with the crowd, especially after hearing about how many season tix we sold (and all the people celebrating that we weren’t running the option anymore so now they could watch us play again). It was pretty pitiful for a first home game under a new regime after all the hype. Maybe it’s nit the coach or the offensive style, maybe our fans just suck.
