Not sure how I feel about this given that Wells has never missed a kick in an actual game.
Agreed. I guess "competition is king" but Wells was literally perfect last year. How much better in practice do you have to be, when you're perfect in reality? Our kickoffs weren't great either.

Wow. You don’t F with a kicker’s head like that after he has been literally perfect for you.

And it seems like every team in college football can kick it through the back of the end zone besides GT. So sick of it.

And all those other teams have a soccer program to get a decent kicker.

what to do at QB?
There was a point in the game when I said to myself that it’s too bad we didn’t have this OC when Calvin was here. But we do not have a QB.
I think we either run the option with Oliver or keep Oliver on the field with Lucas.

Mason is fantastic. Wow!
Brown is good but made two freshman mistakes in the 4th qtr.
Davis is ok. Freshman tight end should sit.
We have no WR, so why throw the ball often.
We really should try and shorten the games this year and run.
I think our Defense is pretty good but our Offense sucks. That's it in a nutshell for me

Defense looked pretty solid overall, aside from a couple miscues. We even got to the quarterback a couple times. Secondary is going to be a strength for years to come. That's exciting.

Mason is a beast. I'd love to see us find some ways to get the ball to him in space more often.

Injuries on the OL really hurt, I hope they're not serious.
I don't know a lot about it, but think maybe Mason is running where he needs to run, not sure we gain anything with trying him in "space". Think maybe J. griffin could be effective in both places, when he's ready, just still a little early for him it seems. Did he play at all Sat?

I’m going to be positive and assume the OC has a great reason for not playing Graham.

I saw that exchange from the stands. It went on for a bit longer and a coach came down and sort of got between them. Wondered what was being said.

The best thing I saw was #54 (I think) doing the worm on the sideline after the goal line fumble. At least we’re sort of fun to watch due to stuff like that.

King outperforned him in practice, apparently.
That’s some bullshit right there. Wells was literally perfect on the field last year, while the other guy couldn’t kick it into the ocean.

At least King stepped up and...no, wait, he missed the FG that would have been the difference between tied and trailing had USF not maybe fumbled at the goal line.

I like that the OC is playing to strengths. He did a great job revamping the pass game from last week to this week to get the ball out on short routes - a combination of lack of pass protection and downfield accuracy. He is adjusting to the players he’s got... quite opposite from CPJ’s system offense.
They’re also gameplanning for the other team.

Installing only what’s necessary to win

The only way King could have missed that FG attempt any further was to have hit the Wreck with it.
