Our offense is unimaginative

you're out of your mind. If anything, it was a bit too imaginative in a few places today where simplicity would've been better.

PJ's not coming back. Deal with it.

This is absolutely not true. At midnight I was in my bathroom staring in the mirror and said his name 3 times out loud...BAM! there he appears! In his hand he was holding a broken wishbone, the other piece was hanging out of his mouth with some bojangles chicken remnants.

Normally I would be scared, but somehow I was oddly lulled into a deep state of peacefulness.

and you said "Pass me a piece" and he replied "I hate passing!"

Johnson would be a fantastic QB if we could get him a pocket with protection. As it was, he had no time. Being a long stride type runner, he had difficulty escaping pressure. I hate that Minihan and Cooper went out. We are so thin on the OL.
Just my opinion, it doesn't look good for Cooper. He was limping walking during the Tech walk. He was holding his hip after plays during play, from hurting, not fatigue. I worry about that kind of nagging injury where he is hurt before the start of the game.

Anyway, starting center AND starting LG went down during the game. Hard to justify not just playing the runners, Graham and Oliver, after that. I did like seeing Oliver out there with the other QB's. Oliver is a baller

Anybody know why Brenton King is out there and not the great Wesley Wells?

My thoughts as well. WHAT THE?? WHO THE?? On a 50 yarder no less. BK has a hard time with PATs. Really weird. I'm assuming WW wasn't feeling above the line this week.

Kind of reminds me of my sports career. I was pretty damn good in practice, always mad the team. Crashed and burned during games

It’s important for them to stay on message and consistent for everyone to buy into the culture change. If BK out-competed Wells then I get it. However, the first time that costs us a game I will be much less understanding...

There was one play where the guy covering Tyler Davis gave away his blitz pre snap. A quick throw from Johnson would have netted pretty big yardage, had it been recognized. I realize I am not on the field seeing it from that angle, but those quick TE throws will help negate a blitz.

A throw to Davis would have been a 15 to 20 yard completion. UVA is very good at using TE's like this right now.

What's your point? The fact that we won doesn't change the fact that our offense was really bad.

Winning means everything, and we won't do much more of it if our offense plays like this. Our defense was awesome today, but our offense was not.

Agree with this.

We can’t pat CGC on the back for taking the exact same D talent as the last few years and seemingly making amazing strides in 2 games while then on the same front excuse him from taking the same O talent and seemingly running it into the ground.

Something doesn’t jive right with that.

Picture what Ted Roof would have done with them. 15 yards off WR's on 2nd and 5. Play to let other teams move the ball at will and hope to tighten up at the goal line

Just watched the replay on YouTube. Most clear to me was that when we look like we are running a read option, it is actually a dive play called, i.e. the QB is not actually reading the defender. LJ gave the ball to Mason many times with the defender practically in the running back's face. I know the O line got beat up but they are the biggest weakness to our team right now. We have got to find someone who can snap the ball consistently in the shotgun.

I predict James Graham will start on Saturday to continue the QB rotation.

We definitely aren't running a "pro style" offense if we don't have some under center plays. All NFL teams do. We are a shotgun option team at the moment.

Yeah, who knows? Maybe its a message to Wells not to take anything for granted. That said, if you're not using Wells, don't even attempt that 50 yarder, IMO.
