Army's 2-minute offense looked atrocious, as did Army's PK.
Army's kicker had never ATTEMPTED a field goal prior to that kick. It was fifty yards to beat Meatchicken at Ann Arbor. I thought it was pretty close, all things considered.

Yes, I think it was and that is a fair criticism. We needed a grad transfer at QB but honestly why would a good QB come to the program at this point in time. We have to build a base first and the base it going to take time.

Collins is trying to do 2 primary things with his always positive message: 1) sell the program to the recruits, fanbase and new fans. He wants it to be a program that recruits/fans are excited about no matter what happens on the field. I expect he knows on field results are likely to be poor 2) Make sure the current players are engaged and don't desert or give up on the program; he needs them to buy-in so that they can help the new freshmen buy-in and ingrain the culture.

Change is hard, if the fanbase makes Collins' job harder by telling him, "you have to do it our way" then it will delay the process and harm the results.
Change is hard anywhere, but probably harder at a stodgy, tradition-laden organization like Georgia Tech. He seems to have a good plan, but it will be a very big task. How did the West Stands Mafia like the DJ in the student section?:heelclick:

Yeah I literally pointed that out on the previous page, thus why it's stupid to run plays that get short yardage rather than gamble with sideline outs and those sorts of plays to get a completely-inexperienced PK a bit closer than 50 yds.

Since when is telling the truth hating?
Is it really truthful to summarize CPJs career as "Never played football and never won a major championship either, then got fired."ignoring ACC championship, orange bowl, etc? I dont really care enough to continue with this, but the continual slights against CPJ are fairly tiresome.

I wasn’t summarizing his career. Don’t particularly care about his career. I care about his mediocre time at the Georgia Institute of Technology and praise Jesus that the 11 year old experiment is over.

I would guess that 99% of all college players who pursue a coaching career never become P5 head coaches; probably not even BCS head coaches. Being a successful executive is more about leadership and decision-making than about athleticism and field experience.

Maybe a personal ax to grind with him?
Doesn’t that phrase connote a level of retribution? I don’t care that he needs to be punished or not if that’s what you’re insinuating.

So long as people are going to be unfair to the new coaching staff, I’ll be Cato the Elder :)

Probably what I hate most about Paterdud is that I have no ööööing clue how to pronounce his name.

Nah. I’m just trying that it seems like you know PJ and don’t like him on a personal level, and that clouds your ability to fairly judge his success (or lack of success). Your critique of him seems to be more mean spirited and illogical than other posts you make.

PJ had some great moments at GT. He didn’t win a national championship, and that’s the ultimate goal. He did have some teams that were at least on the periphery of the championship conversation. But it appears a lack of defense and perhaps recruiting hurt his ability.

In steps GC, who is focusing on recruiting, defense and special teams. He’s all about branding our group as a tight knit family that cares about each other and academics in the heart of Atlanta. It’s going to take time to see if it works. Hopefully it does. But the offense hasn’t looked great.

I am aware that different coaching philosophies take time. Saban only won 6 games at Bama his first season (or something like that). Here’s hoping GC is the Saban of GT

I don't see why some feel the need to crap on CPJ. He's likely to be a hall of fame coach and he's easily one of the most successful coaches that we've had in the past 50 years. I was ready for a change and am excited about the new direction but I don't see why our own fans want to diminish our accomplishments over the past 10 years, some of which haven't been seen around here in a long time

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT PAUL DID WITH AN ANTIQUATED RUN BASED GAME.

WE HAVE TO THROW THE BALL OUT OF THE SHOTGUN EVEN ON 4TH AND INCHES, HAVE JUICE, HAVE A DJ, HAVE A JUICE CREW AND HAVE BRANDING BECAUSE THATS WHAT RECRUITS WANT.

RESULTS DON'T MATTER

SWAGGER MATTERS

I WOULD RATHER GO 0-12 WITH SWAGGER THAN WIN A TITLES AND BOWL GAMES UNDER PAUL JOHNSON.

WASN'T IT FUN HOPING THE DEFENSE GOT A STOP INSTEAD OF RUNNING A DEATH MARCH?
THE ONLY THING A DEATH MARCH KILLS IS RECRUITING!!

I'M OFF TO WAFFLE HOUSE TO ORDER A CHEESESTEAK OMELETTE WITH RAW SUGAR ON MY WAFFLE
