Amazing how obsessed our fans are with UGA. I think the loudest cheer of the game Saturday was when they showed a Murray State highlight on the big screen

Unfortunately, we probably saw the ONLY highlight of that debacle.

No doubt Fresno State can handle Georgie.

Strange. Sagarin is usually spot on.
As much as I hate to say it, 46 is probably on the low side for an OL that average 330 lbs. and is arguably the best in CFB...and a QB that will (hopefully) go pro next year.

I thought Sagarin used some data from the year prior as the new season is developing. Is that correct and at what point does the Sagarin system work exclusively off the current year's data (if the former is true)?

I mean, just looking at this year so far
  • Workman like win over Vandy for the first game where they never got uncomfortable and was essentially a home game
  • Blow out against Murray State at home
  • Vandy lost by 3 TDs to a Purdue team in Week 2 and its a Purdue team that lost to Nevada Week 1.
While I am sure they will be just as good as ever this year, they simply haven't played anyone yet (216 SOS per Sagarin). So, ranking seems legit if limited to just this year.

Jeff has 0-2 Tennessee (87) above 2-0 Georgia State (105) who beat them by more than a touchdown and PAT at home. His weightings look way off to me for the first time I can remember.

Using his recent algorithm is a little better, but it's a bad look. He must have really initialized UT with a high weight.

GA did lose their last 2 games in 2018, right? Throw in meh Vandy and a nobody and maybe that is what is up.

I didn't see a note that he does use the preceding year, but that would make sense.

It still doesn't make sense to look at these automatic rankings in the first few weeks. Not enough data.
