1983

Citadel was 0-2 against teams like Elon.

With regard to the Elon game, didn't Citadel have to evacuate and disrupt their practice because of the Hurricane? that answer would be yes.

at least there was no twitter in 1983... and area codes only mattered to hackers, phreakers, and pirates.

Good point. What is the last time we had a loss worse than this then?

So far the candidates might be:
1950: 13-14 loss to Virginia Military Institute(6-3 but a win against ööööty VPISU)
1932: 13-14 loss to Carneige Tech (5-3-1 with win over Temple(who beat Penn State and Missouri)
1926: 13-7 loss to Olgethorpe (no information on Olgethorpe's record)
1902: 17-0 loss to St Albans

So this is the worst loss since 1926.

Please rename the thread to 1926.

MTSU was pretty bad.

1983 Furman went 10-2, this year Citadel just lost to Towson and Elon. Worst loss in program history.

I've heard about the Furman loss so many times, and it predates my fandom by quite a long time. Which means, we will never escape talk of this loss.

I was there. It wasn't shocking. Football wasn't as big as it is now.
