It was a very poor showing all around. It did not appear that we had a concrete gameplan for how to defend the option, which is inexcusable. If there is any silver lining in this clusteröööö, it's that I think the coverage ability of our secondary is our biggest strength (maybe punting) and we faced the one offense we'll see all year that renders that strength obsolete.

Nah you're the one acting like a little bitch. We were projected as a 3 or 4 win team. I'm not dumb enough to let this season turn me into an emotional basket case.

I agree. However, it concerned me that the DB's did not close on the runner more agressively. They were standing and watching too much.

I would like a cease and desist on all the gimmicky bullshit. Money downs, juice crew, ATL...seems to me that two thirds of the roster isn't really ATL but spots needed filling. If those guys were the A-team holy ööööing öööö

You better be a big $ donor the way you’re brushing off an FCS loss as growing pains while simultaneously condescending to people that actually give a öööö about our W/L and recruiting.

You know how many OVs we had today with kids we were trying to flip? You think that was also in CGCs “overhaul” plan?

Forgive me for not being upbeat about possibly the worst loss in program history.

Hoping I do, it'd be a good part of the rebrand CGC is trying to pull off. Going from becoming a meme as we beat VPI in Blacksburg to making the schaedenfreude blog for losing to Citadel in a 5 year span is one hell of a re-brand!

not unless Memphis State has to go back and forfeit their win against us in 1981.

We beat #2 Alabama to open, lost to what would be 1-10 Memphis St by 13 at home 2 weeks later, ended 1-10.

I was also there for Furman 1983 and 1986. I knew guys on that Furman squad - that was a great team.

This is much worse. This loss is a failure of the coaching staff to prepare our team and to prepare a competent game plan.

Nah, I've already said it's a terrible loss. The coaching has to be be much better than what we saw today. I'm just not in "burn it all down" mode like some of you are.

To clarify, I’m not in “burn it all down” mode but I think Patenaude has worn out his welcome. It’s not lost on me that we don’t have the players to fit what we are trying to do but to look as inept as we have for the past 3 games and to have lost to an FCS team that was 0-2 coming into the game is inexcusable. We could have just run the ball 70 times and won but we kept getting cute.

He's gotta get better results as the season progresses, for sure. The whole QB roulette thing just looks dumb when only one of the two guys is actually effective. Instead of trying to run two different offenses for two different QBs, we need to accept that Oliver gives us the best chance to win for now and roll with him. Maybe when Graham is healthy give him some snaps as well if you want more of a passing threat, but LJ should not be seeing significant playing time. His passing ability is not good enough to justify playing time when he brings nothing else to the table.

We did lose quite a few. We are among the youngest teams in all of college football this year and the few seniors we have are learning a new system.
