TStan wasn't going to hire an option coach from day 1. Said at CGCs intro presser he was tired of seeing us undersized, outmanned and having to punch above our weight. The offense served us well, but it isnt the only way for us to win and its days were numbered, regardless. I am not gonna pine for it.
So, his plan is to recruit toe-to-toe with the best teams on the schedule? Do something that has never been done at GT other than an outlier year here or there?

CPJ’s spread option isn’t the only way for GT to win. GT has won in my lifetime by also having a coaching advantage on the sidelines. After the last 2 games, this staff doesn’t look capable of that.

I'll be honest, I'm gonna need some time. If we can manage to field a competent offense one day I'll be over it. Until then, I'll be angry that we ran off a scheme that routinely "punched above our weight" in favor of one that looks more like slapfighting. The fact that it's easy to pick out major mistakes makes it even worse.

GT went 3-10, 6 of those losses by one score or less.

We are about to feel what 2-10 looks like when you aren’t in a single game. And that’s generous.

And I want you cocksuckers like @Diseqc @Yukonwreck @MTrain defending it the whole way. You bitched during CPJ tenure, now defend your guy.

The defense, penalties & awful play calling have nothing to do with the talent level.
I’ll hang up and listen.
There is no F..king defense for what we saw today! Collins is a mouthy POS from the scrum of the SEC.

The transition from a talent perspective was always going to take some time and produce some uneven and bad games along the way.

Being prepared to play and having a semblance of play calling is pretty obvious fairly quickly even if the O doesn’t look good. The O coordinator is pretty poor—lining up 7 yards deep on 3rd/4th short repeatedly and in multiple games watching it get stuff every time is stupid along with switching QBs mid series is piss poor. Being able to manage the clock is also something that a coach should be able to do.

The loss is 100% on poor coaching.

Perhaps, they can get better. If they don’t soon, GT won’t win the rest of the season.

This is only true because the school’s leadership and big money donors did not believe in it. But whatever makes them feel better at night. At least we are losing the right way now. It feels so much better.

The defense and awful play calling has everything to do with talent level. The defense was on the field 3/4 of the game, when our offense struggles to gain a first down its difficult for a defense to continuously get stops regardless of who you are playing. The fact that we can’t move the ball on offense is because we don’t have a pass rush, much less block for the run. Your telling me we have the offensive lineman that can protect the quarterback/ running back in this offense when we average 250lbs on the offensive line? No, that is because of the lineman we have recruited in the CPJ era. Go ahead tell me I’m wrong, and I may be but öööö we have to give this new coaching staff a chance, this is the first time we have faced adversity, we will see how they overcome this loss.

You are wrong as is every one who claims our linemen were undersized under CPJ. That’s only marginally true at the Tackle position. We did lose a good linemen to transfer and a couple to injury but we had one of the biggest and best G-C-G combos in the ACC for much of CPJ’s tenure. You can compare depth charts yourself. We have no cohesion on offense because our staff has decided we have no quarterback. It’s the same thing we saw with tevin and Vad only those two would at least beat FCS teams.

I agree that the defense actually did relatively decent when measured against the offense, but the Citadel should not roll up that many yards on a team that’s playing with any semblance of desire. The defense played not to get hurt. Sad to see.

???? Wtf are you talking about?
That our offense rarely had games in recent years as clean as the one the Citadel just had. I thought that was pretty clear by my post. Even in games when the offense was humming, like Tennessee or USF, we were prone to making stupid mistakes that cost us the game.

That’s because Tennessee and USF and those other teams weren’t FCS scrub schools.

How many yards did Citadel just run up our asses today?

The citadel scored 21 points in regulation. Name a season in CPJ’s tenure where we averaged less than 21 points in a game. In fact name all the games we scored less than 21 points in the last 5 seasons.

I just checked and it’s less than 10. 3 of which were Clemson.

You were very clear and very clearly dumb.

LOL. I'm not talking about points scored.

I'm talking about how clean the game was played. They didn't take sacks, commit several false starts, turn the ball over with fumbles, etc. Only three teams fumbled more often than we did last year. (We lost 13 fumbles; Army lost 5.) We were high-scoring and could bust off big plays, but we also had a tendency to get in our own way under Taquon.

LMGTLAO ooooo so because we had more possession because we scored so much and had some fumbles we didn’t play as clean as they did. I get it now! LOL you’re right ma dude.

God you’re ööööing retarded.

We had more possessions because we scored so much? LMAO. What exactly are you arguing? Because you haven't refuted anything I said.

Even with explosive plays, our games tended to have fewer possessions because the clock was constantly running.

You said we rarely played as clean as a bad option team today. I’ve refuted you by saying our offense performed much better against better talent. Your response was subjective crap about losing fumbles. I would agree that we lost our fair share of fumbles but many of those were on the same days when we scored about as many points as citadel did on what you claimed to be a perfect day. You said it was rare that we looked as good as them on offense. I would say that it was rare we looked as bad as they did on offense. The numbers back me up far better than they back you up.
