This was set in motion and predestined the very moment Paul Johnson was hired

Yes, go ahead and redirect. Put over 60 points on the board with TO at QB against a bad Louisville team but still a team that was much better than yesterday's Citadel team that was 0-2 in FCS play.

Hey, I'm all in favor of letting TO start. Not sure last year's Loserville team was much better than the Citadel though.

Then you don't know college football. The Citadel lost to Elon and Towson State. If you think Louisville of last year is no better than that, you should stay out of intelligent discussions about college football.

if you think last year's L'ville team was worth half a öööö, you don't know college football.

It appears nobody knows college football.

In the words of William Goldman, "Nobody knows anything."

Louisville was terrible but would have easily defeated The Citadel, Elon and Towson. They did in fact defeat 3 FBS teams last year. Your inference was that we didn’t have a quarterback that could put points on the board. I am simply pointing out how wrong you are because you conveniently only mention Luca Johnson.

By all accounts, PJ was gonna name Luca Johnson the starter until his knee injury so I presume, had PJ not quit on us, he would've been trotting out Luca Johnson.

All of last year, most of this forum wondered why PJ wasn't starting TO over TQM on a weekly basis. Why should I think that PJ, had he not quit on us, would've started TO over Luca Johnson this year?

Probably wouldn’t have. Probably would use some inane system of rotating 3 quarterbacks if they all remained above the line. So PJ took his 3rd string QB by your account, and still won games.

no PJ started and played TQM even when it was obvious that TO was the better option, no pun. Did you watch any GT football last year?

Maybe we should swap offensive coordinators from play-to-play. Any coach who makes good calls during practice has earned the right to make calls during a game.

If they are ATL in practice, then you know it ought to work in a game situation.

And won seven games. GC can’t decide on QB, kicker or when to call time out. Why would all of these touted 4 and 5 star recruits want to play for him?

No argument on GC's incompetence nor that last year's team was the absolute pinnacle of mediocrity that you have put onto a pedestal.

Which looks pretty dang good compared to what I saw Saturday. Like it or not, since 1990, with a couple of exceptions during the CPJ years where we went to the Orange Bowl, mediocrity has been the norm. And the coach has not mattered. I’m all for GC succeeding but so far all I have seen is bravado and hype. I have not seen, since his hire, nor in his previous head coaching experience anything to make me think he’ll do better or even as well as our previous coaches. One thing I did see Saturday is a total lack of discipline by his players. Lastly, as the head coach he has to make good hires. Our OC does not have a great track record but like our head coach, he does talk a good game.

Not arguing about lack of discipline last Saturday, but that was in no way evident in the previous two games. I believe the team didn't take Citadel seriously and when they got punched in the mouth, retaliated with their mouth.

Of course that's on the coaches as well, but this game is one they can point to in future similar situations.

Except for the part about looking good, I agree with all that.

The worst is the lack-of-discipline part. I don't give a öööö who's the OC/DC/HC, that öööö is inexcusable.
