One year prior to that on September 11, 2010:
#17 Georgia Tech upset by Turner Gill's Kansas team 28-25. A Kansas team that had lost to 1AA North Dakota State 6-3 the week prior.

Your point?
In our defense, NDSU was an FCS quarter-finalist that year.

We were on track for 1,000 yards that day. Layed down in the 4th quarter

Someone: "Georgia Tech has the record for margin of victory, 222-0 over Cumberland"

@daBuzz: "YEAH WELL HAVE YOU SEEN OUR ALL TIME RECORD AGAINST GEORGIA"

Whoa...All of a sudden, I'm looking forward to trolling other team boards after any win this year so I can post stuff like this:

"..something something...A Georgia Tech team that lost to an FCS team running a HS offense that controlled the clock for 42 minutes"

And to think I thought this year was lost!

There's a good case, I think, that the CPJ era was cut short in the end by the success of negative recruiting against his system and against our school. It will be interesting to see how the new guy fares against this, given he's probably never seen negative recruiting to the sort of level we have to deal with.

Well, he has recruited here before, fairly successfully.
Man, this video is wild. Tevin Washington was a much better passer than anyone we have on the roster right now.

Yes, Tevin was underrated as a GT QB. His passing improved every year he was a starter.

Our 2012 offense was insanely good, which made for an even more maddening season. That offense was one dominant OG away from being the 2014 offense.

In Johnson's defense, in 2010 he was still being forced to use Gailey's recruits that were not built for a high powered offensive attack..

The 3O on display -a thing of beauty when working, a train-wreck when it wasn’t.

A QB who could make reads and throw on occasion. An O-line recruited to play in a 3O offense, starting center, no-walk-ons. Backs recruited to play in the system.

I enjoyed the CPJ 3O era, but it was time for a change -especially since the architect of that system retired at the end of last season.
