Temple Fans view of Collins and Patenaude

Why would I give a damn what some random Temple fan thinks about our coaches? They're bound to have fans who sound as dumb as the people who are complaining about a coaching staff 3 game into the season...and one of those games was against Clemson so we had absolutely ZERO chance to win.
By far the most intelligent poster on this board. Thanks.

The best theory I've heard/read on here is nobody good would want the job in the transition years. Patenaude was cheap and would take it then we can upgrade later.

That was my hope. I think Collins could be a good ceo type head coach but will need good/great coordinators to be successful. If he has a close relationship with patenaude, I'm now worried he is his sewak and will limit us in the future.

Come on. They have worked together for 2 years and have no past beyond that.

My exact comment after the last game. A good coach adapts. We’ll see.
So you didn't think Paul Johnson was a good coach then? Because there have been very few coaches in the past 2 decades who adapted less than Paul Johnson. He ran his offense and he was going to run it no matter what the situation was.

So you never thought PJ never adapted at halftime? Why does every friggin statement have to compare the previous regime? Jeez!

Adapted? Heck no. He ADJUSTED blocking schemes etc. But he didn't adapt for öööö. Hell, he wouldn't even put the QB into the shotgun in an obvious 3rd and 32 passing situation.

And it wasn't about comparing the previous regime. It was about your statement that 'great coaches adapt'. I was just pointing out that Johnson was a helluva coach...but the only year you could argue he adapted was the year he tried the shotgun stuff with Vad Lee (and that worked out badly). Just simply saying that the adjustment statement isn't always true.
